    Tige Clear Touch

Anyone know if the software for the Tige Clear Touch Screen is upgradeable? The 2018 model is different than my 2017.

Yes, there are updates. If you touch the little gear somewhere in that settings screen will list you firmware version. Jot that down then you can find out what most current firmware version is and compare it to what you have.

Be careful. My 17 had a provision to switch the colors of the rgb tower dome light and the transom lights right on the screen. After the upgrade I no longer have that option and have to cycle the on/off switch over and over to get to the color I want. I don't notice enough of a difference to say if the loss was worth it.

Hmmmmm, Unstuck, did you find that overall the features were easier to access. All I am basing my inquiry on is what I have seen on the new videos. Was the dome and transom light the only hiccups?

Unfortunately I had just purchased my boat a couple of weeks before I installed the update. I really didn't have much time at all with playing around with the older software. Changing the light color is the only thing I recall that I don't like. Seems like the screens have a new look, but the functions are very similar. I'm a big fan of watching engine gauges and either I haven't figured that screen out yet or it doesn't really show that stuff. I have not been on the water yet with the update, so that may play into it as well. From what I recall, I do like the look of the new software better than the older one.

The strange thing is that the guy I asked about being able to change the colors by just pressing the color choice didn't think that was ever an option in any programing. Does your software let you change the color just by selecting the color you want, or do you have to cycle the on/off switch?

If I could go back to the old program and get that function back, I think I would. Can anyone fill us in on all the changes that were made to the new software?

Sorry I didn't get back to you. Its a two wire setup and not a 4 wire (RGB) so its always needed the cycle on and off. The old screen had a color wheel for reference, same as on the transom light which is only white, blue, blue/white. It didn't allow a color to be picked.

If my mind serves me right you dont need to go on and off over and over. The provision is 2 steps. One on and the light will fire up white and then start cycling through colors. Off on the right color and then back on if you dont want to change the intensity. if you do, back off then back on as the light goes from low to high intensity. Where you stop it on the last fireup is where it lands. Any delay of longer then 2 seconds goes back to white.

It is absolutely worth it. The new 2018 Tige Clear Interface is much easier and more intuitive to use. Cycling the dome light and underwater lights are the only hiccups (if you can even call it that)

Vessel view, quick swipes are a few options that make it vastly superior then the previous software.

Great info guys, I figured that upgrades were available much like any computer software. I won't be able to see my baby until July when I get home but perhaps I can get my dealer to upgrade the firmware prior to my return.

I used mine for 100 hours last year and from what I have seen from the videos, it does look more user friendly. (Plus the colors looked better)
