Calling all Tigé Owners near San Antonio, TX

Looking for some fellow Tigé Owners near San Antonio, TX that would be willing to hit up some day trips this summer with me. I am looking to have my boat shipped out from Cali in the near future (costs about 1K for anyone that is curious) but in doing so I need to plan some local trips before everyone has there summer mapped out. I would like to spend some time up at Medina Lake as it seems to be the closest but I would be willing to go to Canyon Lake too. Just trying to get the lay of the water and see where I will end up spending my time while I live here (next 4 years or so). I prefer easy operations and less crowds... the less people I see on the water the better... I am a simple minded guy with safety in mind... Been boating all over and have had my boat since 2009. Probably be ready to boat by mid June... Anybody that is willing to meet up and show me the ways of Texas please let me know. I will pay all the fuel costs so long as we can all get some surf time! I forgot who reached out to me before as I don't have the messages saved but let me know and we can swap phone numbers (again)... Hope to see some Tigé Owners soon!

    Mike

Hey man, come on down to San Angelo! We are roughly 3 hours from SA - anytime during the week (we work weekends) I'll give you a pull!

If you decide to come out to Canyon Lake, hit me up. Essentially grown up on the lake and know it like the back of my hand.

I will check that out! Thanks for the invite jslayde1! Wish I had that sort of schedule! When I get set up here you are welcome on my old bird as well. She may be older but throws a great surf wave!

That would be great.. The boat is on its way from Cali as we speak actually... Praying that everything goes okay.. Found a company to do it for 899 from Cali to here using uShip. Can't go wrong with another fellow "h2o" Tigé Owner! Hope to meet up soon! I would be willing to go down there whenever you could to be honest... Just need to make sure the boat runs well and see how operations work out there.. How is Wake-Surfing out here? I always seemed to run into the 5-O that wanted to mess with us any chance they got... especially for us riding so close to the back of the boat... It became very annoying having to stop riding and explain to them the sport and how wake surfing was not as dangerous as they thought... Anyhow, looking forward to hitting the water! I will def take you up on it....

My family is out quite often and being 5 minutes from the ramp makes it so much easier Luckily for us the sheriffs and state police tend to leave the responsible watersports people alone. They tend to chase down the jet skiers and obvious infractions.

Looking forward to getting you out on the water

Bring it on man! We are always down to surf...

^^Looks like she made the trip alright! For the most part, the lake patrol doesn't mess with us much at all. I pretty sure over the last couple years we have not been stopped at all...

AWESOME! I heard that Lake Austin is pretty awesome. Sucks it is so far... However, in Cali I used to tow 4-5 hours jut to get to some decent (Colorado fed as well) lakes worth spending a weekend on. Hope that I can find a spot that is within an hour and then make a friend that has property nearby that would mind me keeping my boat there. Right now I am trading a 6500W Diesel Generator I acquired some years back that I have never used to let me store my boat on his land. Just some random guy I sold a travel trailer to recently but he is becoming a friend now. Like I said, Texas hospitality speaks for itself...

Sweet... I am as well... Honestly, I just love a simple operation on a lake that affords decent water and I can get away from other boaters... Thinking some weekend trips at Canyon lake and renting a cabin or something like that since I don't have the trailer now...I have a 22 month old and my wife and nobody else to help so going to be an interesting season but I am looking forward to getting my son on the water again and figuring out how to train my wife to do the things my Cali friends used to help me out with (Thanks for all the tows Brad). My son has been on the boat since he was about 6 months old and I want to keep that going as I was a water baby as well.

I speak from experience when I say, they are trainable...its just takes time (lol). My wife was a bonafide city girl (no offence there to anyone), hardly ever seen a trailer...and now there is nothing she can't do with these boats. Our business demands it now, but even before she could load/unload, back the trailer, drive...everything! She even takes a group of girls out every now and then for some surfing .

And BTW - we have a 9, 7, and 2 years old. Your whole family is welcome here if that wasn't clear before!

Agreed, time and patience. My wife agrees to get the boat on and off the trailer, but refuses to handle the backing down the ramp. I call it a good compromise. My youngest has been out on the water since 8 months.

I'm just hoping the weather clears up this weekend so we can hit the water.

LMAO... Well I am in charge of developing training for 38,000 Security Forces Defenders so I should be able to handle training a wife... After all she is signed off on garage and parallel parking now...

Thanks again for the invite! I just wish it wasn't so far... If I am able to plan something though I will!

Right now I have a ton of things to do for the boat... Needs an Oil change.. new battery switch.. new engine hatch latch and gas shock... new flapper for the FAE and then re-installation of that as it fell off last season... The cover got tore up when I moved the boat here so seeking a warranty replacement on that... it sounds like BoatCoversDriect is willing to work with me given I have had no issue towing with it on before and they have a 7 year warranty. We will see though... My fingers are crossed as I paid like $700 for it 3 years ago.. The trailer I have is really jacked up too.. the two boards protecting the boat from anything the tires kick up are completely gone with the bolts rusted in them... Needless to say the list goes on. I did however start the boat up and the thing started after the first click and it had been 6+ months since I had been able to start her. Sounded good and If I needed to I could launch and be okay out on the water... Just like everything to function like new. This boat has been From VA to MD to CA and now back to its home in TX. Proud to be an owner of a well kept (IMO) older Tigé.

Sounds like you have your hands full and you definitely needed the Z3 to accommodate all that! Looking forward to summer already... It is coming too fast now that I have all this work to do. Pretty soon it will be over again.. C'est La Vie!

                            Cheers!

That is a great compromise... How crazy does it get on Canyon Lake? What do they look for during boat inspections and how much does it cost to launch? I need to get my TX boat registration completed and I have the form filled out but it still has current CA registration. I know that is a lot of questions but I came from California where you had serious inspections and boating was never as fun with all the 5-0 harassing you on the water.
