Canyon can get pretty busy later in the summer, but you can usually find decent water in a cove. Usually after my wife pulls me for a few sets on the ski, it clears out the cove or people start swimming. There are a few coves that due to their geometry can take a fair number of people without the water getting too bad.

Boat inspections, didn't know those were a thing j/k The police are super relaxed around here and usually a wave to them has them spending their time with someone else Most ramps are free with the exception of the parks and marinas. There are 22 ramps on the lake alone so finding a free one is easy. Here is a Corp map with the ramps: ACE Map.

According to Texas Park and Wildlife its only $15 to transfer the registration. Though if you have any questions call TPWD, every time I have called, they are super friendly and get you pointed in the right direction.

Great information and thanks for the killer map! I didn't even realize we had our own launch ramps for the military too. That's real cool. Can't believe most spots are free to launch! Cali was at least a 20 dollar bill and inspection lines to launch could take an hour.

I am about 75% ready to take my first outing but just have to find the time now. I would like to get out during the week as I find that is usually much more enjoyable. Going to do all the fluids this weekend and put all the ballast bags back in. As far as I can tell, the boat is ready for her 9th summer under my belt!

Looking foward to meeting up with ya and hope you have already gotten your ski on a few times if not more! I will keep ya posted when I make the trek out...

Headed out on Medina Lake tomorrow pending the weather... anyone in the region is welcome to join! Will update once I return from our first voyage in the Texas world! Hoping we are able to get out and cruise around at the least. Surfing may be a bust if the winds pick up.

Dang! That suck! I still have my Cali registration until 2019. TP&WD have been less than accommodating for me registering here but they said I'm good to operate on the lakes here still being Military and having valid registration still. At least a ticket is better than a BWI or something of the like.

Dang! Sorry I missed this... no FB here but I will get the wife to add it. Looking for fellow boaters on Medina Lake. We live here now and get out pretty regularly... Anyone else?
