Here’s an example of how weird this is. You can get a Supra 2016 SE450 on only inboards for 90,000 with 40 hours on it. It’s a private party in Mississippi, and it’s been for sale for a while. There are some killer values out there on occasion.

Just as a matter of stating how random good deals can come up.

      Makes shopping fun!

Ummm....new boats do NOT hold their value...unless you got a sweetheart deal at about 25% off msrp. I would be looking at a 2016 Z3 if you have to have TAP3 or a 2014-2015 if you don't care about TAPS3.

Seriously...a well maintained 2016 Z3 is just as good and a brand new Z3 where it matters and can be had for a solid $30k less. 2016 Z3 on Onlyinboards for $74k. Compare that with a new one fir $100-110k.

I think a solid 25-30% loss in value over a 2-3 yr period can be expected buying new.

Some folks consider that “holding value” whereas I tend to think of that as more of a bath. Matter of perspective, I guess.

I’m fixing to pull the trigger on a r23 with upgraded tower off the z3. Custom ordered the way I want etc I was wondering if any one had bought a r23 and wish they would have got the z3? I don’t have the chance to see both in person so just kind of rolling the dice on them. I know hull design is the same besides some graphics you can change, but is the interior upgrades really worth the 5k price jump? I know you get a bigger screen and upgraded captains chair, and what appeared to be some more design and color options on the interior. Any input or advice is appreciated, thank you!
just got a new R23. our budget was around $90k so that ruled out a new Z3. the fact that the new Rs with options are basically the same as a year or two old Z3 made it a no brainer for me. i didn't need the foldable tower (we never drop it), but picked up some other options like raptor 400, lights, stereo setup, galvanized trailer. No regrets so far.

I just ordered a 2018 Z3 back in Feb after our local boat show and it should arrive at my Dealer this Sat and can pick up mid next week. First Tige and coming from a 2006 Supra 24ssv. I was looking at Axis T23, or Moomba Mojo Pro but just really liked the fit and finish of the Tige. Our dealer is a small operation. Really just saying shop around and just see what the dealer offers. Was looking at the R23 but ordered the Z3 with Z Cline and few other options right at "cnotes" budget. That was also our max budget. Dealer knew features I wanted and budget and while offering a good deal on the R23 knew he risked possibly losing me to another manufacturer. Made a sweet offer on ordering a new Z3. Couldn't pass it up. Hopefully the surf wave is way better.

Yeah my dealer is offering a killer deal on both,
Since the boats performance capabilities are the same, you are really down to options and bling.

Congrats! Loving my R23, started off with list of $103k (flake Paint, Wetsounds, Raptor 400, etc) ended up out the door for $82k with 7 year warranty. Boat show incentive, great dealer, etc.

That was almost the same price as a used Z3.

Thank you! And dang that is a good deal, I ended upgrading the motor as well. Flake paint adds up quick though for sure. About drained this poor Oklahoma boy’s pockets lol I originally was doing the r23 with upgraded tower and figured I might as well spend a little more and get the bigger screen and some other luxury items on the interior

Congrats! If its not too late, don't scrimp on the dual fuel fills and the mid ship cleat( I think the front cleat should be the optional cleat as its inside the fattest point of the beam).
