    Garage wakeboard racks

Almost embarrased to post this since it's a little crude...

But I made some board racks for my garage that actually work quite well and are simple cheap and easy to make.

I made them from 3/4" mdf and wrapped 1/2" foam pipe insulators around the edges.

    Cheers, Jeff

I've got some MDF laying around in the garage. That looks like a good idea.

Whats wrong with that? Got any dimentions/spacing that you could post?
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Once I get home this evening I can post more measurement details if needed but here are the basics.

Approx 6.5" wide 3/4" mdf 5 ft long for the 3 wakeboard config.
Slots cut are on a 6/11" slope. Use a framing square to get this angle or ask. Slots are 1.5" wide for the wake boards 2+" for a fat landlock. Draw a parallel line to your original 6/11 slope. Then I left 1" from the edge of the mdf to the deepest part of the slot, to allow 1" to screw into the wall so boards dont touch wall. Round out corners and edges so it is easy to remove/place boards without catching. I spaced the slots so the boards were pretty tight but without overlap so you could remove just one without the one above. I think the spacing between slots was 10".

If I had a drywalled garage I'd put a piece of mdf behind the rack perpendicularly and use that mounting board to screw flush onto the wall. That setup is ideal as you can fine tune spacing for racks inside or outside of bindings.

Let me know if you need any other details.

                    Cheers, Jeff

I made a rack for my boards out of some adjustable shelving. I cut a slot in some 1" PVC to cover the sharpe edges of the shelf brackets. The pipe slides over the shelf bracket and the boards rest on them. I will try to get a picture posted so you can see.

                        Garage wakeboard racks

Look great. Now you've got me thinking about proper wakeboard storage. Mine usually stays in the boat, but with a rack like that - you'd want to show it off!

                            Sell them

You should build and sell them. It might make you a bunch of money. but sell them to Malibu owners.

Excellet idea. I know what I will be making this weekend. Sometimes the simplest things are the greatest inventions. Nice work.
