    Speedometer

So the speedometer in my 2006 Tige 24ve is not working. The paddle wheel in the speed sensor doesn’t appear to be damaged or broken. It spins freely (maybe a little too freely) and can also be moved from side to side. Not sure if this normal or not. Any idea of what the problem might be or things I can look at?

My speed set doesn’t work as well. Does the speed set and speedometer go hand in hand or are they completely separate?

    Thank you

They share the same signal from the paddle wheel. This seems to point to the tri-ducer itself if not the paddle wheel alone.

I agree with Mike, you either need a paddle wheel rebuild kit(cheap) or a all new tri-ducer (not at all cheap).

I put the part number in as saved search on ebay and waited, one finally came available. My depth and water temp were shot, and speed worked though, so i wasnt in a hurry. If mine is the same off 09 rz4 and you can live with no temp or depth shoot me a pm and I will give you my old one. I did cut the cable so you will need to get a new cable end, but I did order one through nautic logic. In my opinion a better option is to forgo the paddle wheel and buy a gps upgrade from them. Had my paddle wheel stopped and not my depth and temp I woild have done that. They were very helpful.

Will be an upgrade and cheaper...

If it comes down to needing a triducer follow the wire from bilge and shortly upstream should be a sticker with all the part info on it. Not that it will do you much good as Airmar doesnt sell direct so you have to go through one of their distributors/vendors. Super annoying process.
