    Removing AVX

Has anyone removed their AVX? The Lencos were easy enough. But I’m not really sure where to go from here.

Its been a while but IIRC you have to remove the hardware that goes through the "hump" over taps plate and exhaust. Don't have one on hand to take a loot at. We removed one last year on an ASR for fiberglass repairs. Seem to recall it just being the allen bolts needing to come out. The two on the inside of hump thru bolt to threaded holes on bracket I believe. Think you also have to pull the larger allen out of that "universal" eye bolt on outside of hump. Cant really remember the details though. KoolAid knows for sure.

Do remember using a big 3" ratchet strap to support it while removing hardware. Or get a couple sets of hands to hold it.

Thanks for the info. It looks like to me the larger Allen coming out would let the entire thing drop down without removing the smaller threw bolts on the inside of the hump. But just wanted to confirm. I have it supported with some stands so I’m good there.

Awesome! Are you still thinking upgrade or are you gonna rock it a couple more seasons?

Still looking at moving to something else. But I’ve decided to put the taps3 system and other items on. Need to get this AVX off first!

I just wanted to update this. The 2 large Allen head bolts on the outside of the hump are indeed all it took to drop the AVX off. The 4 smaller through bolts on the inside of the hump are not to be touched. It is a 3/8. So it’s just the two Lenco bolts and the two large 3/8s bolts. Extremely easy. I used some bank boxes on each side to support the AVX since I was by myself.
