    Boat Lift Strap System

    Calling for some HELP!

My boat house/lift fabricator is trying to figure out a how to pull my boat out of the water using a over head strap system.
I have a 2010 tige RZ2 and due to the shallow water off my dock, a strap system will have to do. I only have about 3.5 feet of water under my boat lift so a cradle system might not work.
Are there CG limitations with a two strap system? Is the aft strap going to have an umberable about of stress/force on it while the front strap only shares a portion of the load?

Any pics or recommended placement of these straps for safe lifting of the boat?

    Thanks so much!

I would do a cradle lift system with a winch pulling it up. The straps just sound like they would have easy errors.

Not sure a strap will work with the prop/shaft. I have a cradle that rolls into water, a cradle that has straps lifting the beams would be more likely to work.

Have you looked into the Airdock systems? I "think" they are suitable for shallow water...

Not to change the subject on you but where do you go to the lake?

Thanks for the ideas! I just bought this house and it’s right on the lake. The previous owner must have had a pontoon in the lift. Based on the CG of our tow boats and proximity of the prop shaft etc I think I’m going to have to go with a low profile cradle system. I spoke to Harvey down at the tige factory and he basically said the same thing. All though what I didn’t know is they actually pick these boats up during fabrication by the two transom eye hooks and the front eye bolt! Crazy!

Those eyes are used for lifting during unload as well. The front is more of a cradle and eye just keeps sling from walking. Do it to all kinds of boats when its time for bunk replacement. Its some of the pontoons thay scare me because you are trusting 1" marine ply that just has a backer plate in lots of cases.

On the older ski boats, particularly Nautique they would actually have boat lifts that lifted from the lifting rings. This was before they weighed over 6000lbs.
