    R21/Z1 Height w/ Tower RAISED

    Hey guys I decided to bite the bullet and hire a contractor to extend my third car garage back plus swap the 8x7 ft door with a 10x9 ft door so I can fit my R21 in the third bay. If anyone gets a chance can they measure a Z1/R21 on a boatmate trailer w/14" rims with the tower raised? I plan on getting the "high lift" style tracks for my garage and I was wondering if I could get the door high enough so I can pull the nose of the boat all the way forward and still raise the garage door with the tower up. They will be installing a Liftmaster 8100 side opener so the opener will not be an issue....

      My 2013 Z1 is 9'2". However the later trailers got slightly taller and I can't speak for the E2 tower.

      For what it's worth, I did get my boat through a 7' door once but it was very close.

      I also did a massive garage renovation to assist with storing the boat. Made the entire garage taller and longer and added a "boat port". Be careful or this will cost you $50,000

        Ha well luckily the inside of my garage is already 12 ft tall so thankfully the inside isn't an issue....this endeavor will cost me $24,000 but will allow me to simply back the boat in and be done vs remove the swim platform, remove the board racks, remove the bimini, etc and then reassemble. It will also leave me with an additional 7-8ft behind the boat for storage, work area, etc.... The extra space will be nice because we don't have a large lot and my shed is fairly small (HOA limits it to a 10x10)

          12 feet is awesome! I lifted my whole garage but only got up to 10 foot ceilings. That must be paradise in there. I don't typically store my boat indoors, but I can do it if I want to. I did build the boat-port with an automatic gate, so it's almost the same.

          Set it up such that you have a ceiling fan above the boat. I just back my boat in, then open the compartments, hang the jackets, and flip on the fan. The whole thing dries over night. I also made sure the central vac could reach for cleanups. It takes me about 10 minutes to put the boat to bed each night and it is awesome. You are headed down the right path my friend. Oh, and having a camera in there really helps for backing it in. I have a harsh angle on my approach so I actually use my security system camera as a parking aid.

            ^^ Nice! Yeah I already have the contractor planning to install 2 fan boxes in the ceiling of the new area so both the rear and bow will have air blowing down....plus the airflow during the summer will be nice as well
