I will let you know and anyone who is interested if I decide to sell the plates.

That's unfortunate but glad you didn't get stuck with the bill in the end. So, is Indmar offering a warranty period on new engine as well?? Full 5 year like new??
That to me would be the big swing in purchasing. Nothing wrong with having a new motor with a big fat warranty to me. If a guy was that worried about trans and vdrive condition all that would be needed is a fluid analysis now of vdrive and trans for a baseline. Do it again 25 and 50 hours after and you would know if you can expect trouble down the road.

Regardless, clean looking boat. Lots of options. If I recall you did some of the liquid lumens reviews ya?? Are they still on the boat?? Good luck with the sale.
Honestly, who knows. All I know is we (myself and the dealer) significantly tested the boat for leaks or any kind of flaw that may have caused water to get in and found nothing. Driver error was really the only explanation. Thank god I didn't get stuck with the tab. It was extensive. The new engine has a 3 or 5 year warranty. I will have to double check. Again, I have all the paperwork from Indmar and the dealership to make sure everything was done properly. The trans/vdrive was inspected and had all the fluids changed. From what the dealership told me, there were no signs of problems there.

I do have a pair of the Pipelines in Blue. This engine fiasco happened before I could permanently install them. As of right now I am not including them with the boat. They will be going on the next one. In my expereince with vehicles, I'm not going to see much of a price change for leaving some of these added options on. My 4 AGM battery setup is also currently uninstalled for the same reason. If these would help sell the boat I might put them back in.

Regardless of getting the new engine, I am sure the hassle/stress has not been worth it to you. You are a better guy than me cause my boat would NEVER be allowed out of the garage without me along, no matter who it was. Especially when you are talking about a boat that is worth a small house! That is how friends become enemies and since I am such a hardass, I don't have enough friends to lose any, lol. Glad it worked out for you tho, great looking boat. I know if I were a buyer the new engine would make me nervous, but your explaination was one of the few that I would buy and may feel ok about, so I would make sure people know, otherwise they will think something was wrong with boat to make something like that happen. Guessing regardless of the engine being new, it will devalue the boat some simply due to perception. Hopefully it does not work out that way for you since it wasn't due to your negligence/fault.
The 3rd party insurance really saved my ***. But I also learned a valuable lesson. Never again will my boat be in the water without me on it. I don't care who it is. I was hesitant to do it in the first place. But ended up going through with it. With the new engine, I guess I'll just have to see how it goes. Hopefully the documentation I have along with the maintenance records for the rest of the boat will help ease anyone's worries. Other than that I'm not sure there is much I can do.

Need mire pics Of "dings" and "seat tears"

        How many hours?

Between engine, dings, and tears at 2 -3 years old it just sounds like it has been really beat on, which would significantly lower the value.
The Tige Warranty is still active. The dings are nothing crazy and all from putting the boat on or off the trailer. One on the top of the pickle fork from the first day I had the boat. Was putting it on the trailer and slid the nose in too low. What a terrible moment that was. The other 2 dings are both on the bottom from the trailer. This being our first inboard, myself and my family had a bit of a learning curve. I've considering having these repaired but just never got around to it. The "seat tears" are not really tears. But some of the stitching cracking a bit in the rear from what I assume is people stepping on the seats. There are no punctures or actual tears in the interior. The boat overall has been far from beat on. I will grab some pictures when I have a chance.

On a 3 year old boat a new engine adds ZERO VALUE and like most have said screams run. NADA value on boats is so far off that its not worth the paper its printed on. Search OIB for SOLD boat prices. Not the boats for sale that aren't gonna sell for asking price. Expensive used (50K+) boats are a tough sell...

Your likely going to have to price it on the low end of the scale considering the replaced motor and your described above average wear. You don't have to take my word but I'm a flipper and I swap my main rig every season and usually 5-10 others. Its a sickness, but if there is something I know its the boat business. I wish you the best of luck with your sale.
No worries. This is the kind of info I'm looking for. The MSRP of this exact boat according to the paperwork I have was $121k. This is before tax and registration. I indeed got about 15% off that price. From what I've stated above, I really hope the engine doesn't run everyone off. The NADA value was so broad it was basically worthless. I had no idea you could search OIB for sold boats. A quick search is showing a 2015 RZ4 with 316 hours sold on 1/6/18 for 73k and a 2014 with 90 hours for 75.5k. That seems low to me and is a pretty small sample size. But that may indeed be the true market.

I used to flip cars in college. It is definitely not worth sitting on a boat/car for a long time hoping a unicorn buyer comes along. To me I'd rather sell it for a few thousand less and get things rolling.

My main factor for selling is that we are still looking at cruisers. Some of this money might go to take a little bit more of a step up in that department, and a step down on the wake boat side. Unless someone places a 10,000 babz order, I won't be seeing a ZX5 anytime soon. Secondly, I'm really wanting to go with something with more of an RZX design. More freeboard to handle Lake Travis.

Sweet boat for sure. Love those lines. Just my opinion, but if you can get mid 70's I think you will be lucky. Way too many "trophy" boats in the $70-80 range. Older G's. Nautique 230. LSV23. RZ is kind of an older design. When it comes to Tige, it's all about the RZX and Z lines for surf. Of course the RZ will put out a great wave but why would someone pay out $80k for a used RZ when there are other platforms with more modern designs/tech out there.

I agree with what bakes is saying being that it’s a older model. I feel if you put taps 3 on and steered people into knowing it’s an amazing surf boat you’ll be able to sell it for more. The area you’re selling it in also changes things up, boats in the southern part of Usa go for way less than a boat up north in western Canada and Washington.. Your boat up here could easily be over 80k usd. We have 15 rzr’s going for 80k usd.... So yeh...

I hope that is not the case. But that may be the reality.

I would be willing to arrange shipping to pretty much anywhere in the country. I've bought and sold many cars this way. But never a boat. The taps3 is something I'm stuck on. My initial thought was to leave taps3, Liguid Lumens, and the battery setup off the boat. But now I'm thinking those things might actually help sell it. Even if I lose a little coin in the cost of the parts. Everything can be added on pretty easily.

I was also thinking mid 70's is probably the market list price, for whatever its worth. Taps 3 surf system will help sell it for sure, a modern surf system is the only way it competes with the modern boats. I planned to add GSA to my 2014 this year for the same reason. The Nauticurl suck gate makes an incredible, clean wave with the 5k of ballast I run, but people (including me)...want a modern push button surf system not only for ease, but for the transfers, etc.

I now suspect it was driver error. Apparently, water got into the boat somehow and stayed in the bilge sloshing around. I was told in certain scenarios water can get thrown up in the engine compartment via the belts and then start to create a mist that can be sucked into the air intake.[/QUOTE]

I bet he had front bags maxed and took a big one over the front. Not hard to do on the pickles. If he then kept on surfing or running boat nose high water definitely starts to pool in the belt region.

I agree with this assessment. Was the bilge pump functional that day? Most of the new ones make short work of anything in the bilge.

I'm going to go ahead and put the TAP3 on. If it was me buying this boat, I would want the choice. But I'm sure most buyers want to see the latest surf system installed and working. I also think I'm going to go ahead and put the LL's and batteries back in. They are easily removed if I needed to.

I will let you know if that happens. But if they don't go with the RZ4, I'm most likely keeping them for the next boat

I believe the bilge pump wasn't working right. Possibly from the float being clogged with something.

Make sure with the tabs you get the proper placement with the actuators and tabs. That can make a big difference.

I’ve been told I can do it myself. But, I’m going to get a quote to install them at the local Tige dealer.

Yeah definitely not hard to do yourself as long as you know where to put them. Go find a rz4 with taps 3 and take some measurements and just replicate it. The only hard part might be putting it into the touch.

That’s the problem. I have never seen a RZ4 with taps 3 around here.
