    Insurance?$?

What’s everyone paying for insurance these days? Particularly my Canadian friends. On the new boat it seems crazy. 1800 yearly and a 1400 deductible(Canadian Pesos). Replacement and all the high liability jazz...

Just realized with our waterski wakeboard club BC we get a discount through another company, maybe that’ll be cheaper.

Yikes... I pay around 1200 for an 18 with a 500 deductible and thats with getting nailed for the 575.

With everything being taxed to death in Canada it might not be too unreasonable then...

Wow! I think we are $375/year for our 2013 f24. That with Progresive. Maybe I need to look at it again. Seems cheap. Maybe I have a $million deductible.

I pay $50 per month in Alberta. That is full replacement cost for my 2013 Z1. Through State Farm.

SkiSafe had the best rates by far when shopping for my 2014, 24ft boat a month or 2 ago. Geico (used to be BOATUS) was also pretty reasonable) and I was with them for a few years. But SkiSafe is now $588yr with agreed value of $80k on boat and $5k on trailer with $1k deductible (agreed value is good for 5yrs I believe and if totalled for any reason beyond me doing it on purpose, that is the amount I get paid, period). Also $1k for towing and $300k liability, $25k for medical and $2500 for personal property with $250 deductible. Have uninsured coverage and disappearing deductible ($250 per yr till $0). Includes freeze damage and consequential loss....as well as the $939,800 coverage for contamination/pollution fines that can potentially be assesed if the boat sinks tho I have never heard of that happening and doubt the would unless complete negligence or on purpose sinking (I do get discount for having boat safety certificate and loss free past). This rate also includes boating 12months a year. Its a little less for 4 month layup period but in NC, tho I rarely do it I CAN get out during winter months, they have layup time of 4 months where you have ZERO coverage on the water if I decided to go out and something happened, so I decided not to risk that since minimal extra cost....maybe $30.

You can quote/buy online at skisafe.com or call them at 1-800-225-6560. I checked a LOT of reviews cause insurance is only as good as the company backing it, quite a few people recommended them and I did not hear too much negative stuff. Always something, but you get the drift on those that the people may have been part of the problem. Like any company, you will have your good and bad but this is the way I went

Tige family. I’m pretty sure ski safe doesn’t work in Canada.
After finding out all the other Canadian guys prices mine sounds a little more reasonable.

I pay $551 for my 2014 27 ft Essex Performance Boat. Its with Progressive and I am now down to zero deductible and its agreed value policy. Tough to get insurance carriers to insure a performance boat.

Just got two quotes at the Edmonton boat show for a 2018 R21
One came in at $994 (MD Marine Insurance) the other at $817 (Portside Marine Insurance)
This is an all risk agreed value policy (meaning there is no depreciation until the boat reaches its 15th birthday). There is also 2 million liability and a 1% deductible.
Probably be a bit cheaper if you dropped the liability to 1 million
