    I learned a lot talking with other Z3 owners and was able to get myself a very nice surf wave.

    First - Plug the drain and vent line. It is amazing how much water you loose. I fill the sacs until water is spilling out the side. I then insert the plugs then turn the pumps off.

    I bought four 1/2" boat plugs at a marina...

    Second get lead wake. I put 100# (2 bags) in each rear cooler. Here is the truck on the way to the lake. Never trailer with the lead in the boat.

    I then put 200# of lead behind the rear sacs. I stack the lead in the rear storage areas like this...

    It will give you a nice long wave with lots of push.
    Here is a friend of mine, fellow Z3 owner, who just started to surf this past summer.

      @Booms - do you have a AVX or Taps3 Z?

        @Cnote - I completely agree that weight will only make your wave better. We run quite of bit of lead and upgraded bags (but also an AVX).

        However, I think the stock wave is fine. You should not have to work to stay in the wave. Reason I'm mentioning this, the stock wave on these boats are not 'disappointing' - they just get better with weight.

        I think keep messing with it until you get some lead! - that's the fun part anyways...

                Good to see the Plugs are working Booms. Ill maintain that I still think its the only sure fire way to keep water in 100%.

                  You can get a killer wave stock... just need to plug the rears, run 0 bow weight and run taps at the correct settings.

                    Newbie question, where do the plugs go, in the ballast holes on the outside of the boat?

                          How much led are you running with AVX

                            I am running 600# of lead with Taps3.

                            With AVX I remember trying to hit a 9 degree lean to the goofy side. I can check some of my old notes to see what I did.

                              Yes, you have to lean it over a bit more on the goofy - 9* is about perfect. Regular side I can run it around 4 or 5* and its nice and clean. If I push the speed closer to 11.6, then I have to lean it over to about 6* for a nice clean wave...
