    RONIX ADJUSTABLE DOCKING LINE

    Has anyone used these?

I don't have those exact ones. I do have several of these.

I like these because they have loops through the whole length of the line. They are great to hang bumpers such as the BABz. I've used them to tie up to temporary docks and other boats. But they will not handle a ton of weight. I had one bust when tied up with several boats. I was on one end of the 6-8 boat line. My box anchor was firm in the lake bed. boat on the other end untied and left. Turns out he was the only other one with an anchor out. So about 5 boats started to try and drift. One popped. I know they are not built to handle that kind of load. But now days I just end up using regular dock line to secure the boat to whatever I'm up against and use the bungees to hang other things.

That being said. Those look a lot more heavy duty. I see boats all the time with these tied up at restaurants or in the cove...

They have great reviews so maybe give them or the Ronix ones a shot.

I have ones like these. Use them all the time. Fast tie ups to other boats, docks whatever. Totally worth it.

Maybe a silly question, but when I dock our boat we have two bumpers between the boat and dock and then tie the boat tight to the dock so it doesn't move at all. Looking at these items it looks like the idea it to have the boat losely floating close to the dock, but not up against it like we do. Is there a preferred method?

To answer Unstucks question. It’s probably more of a personal preference, we have a dock that when the wind blows it blows the boat away from the dock so it’s not scuffing up against the fenders or dock poles. But you have to make sure it’s tight enough so the bow or stern doesn’t come out too far.
We use the amazon ones linked above to Center the rear in our boat slip or quick visits to the ski dock, wrapping it around the tower and clipping it with a carabiner into the dock connecting both ends together.
