    New R23 Party!

Ordered our first new boat a '18 R23 back in November.

Super excited for our boat to come in we were counting down the days.. our friends coordinated with the dealer (who lied and said it wasn't coming in for another week) and kept the arrival day a secret, then threw us a surprise party at our friends house and the salesman showed up around 8PM with our boat!!

Super excited to get this thing out on the water and see how it surfs. Our previous boat was an '03 centurion avalanche which made a pretty awesome wave with how we had it weighted, although limited to regular side only and had a mad lean going on the whole time. Looking forward to having more room for friends and some new technology, hopefully with as good or better wave!

Congrats on the new boat. I can say with zero doubt in my mind that the wave will be better than your old Avalanche, like substantially better. Better on both sides, and no more list to get it, which makes it a nicer ride for passengers. Enjoy!!

Thanks, yes I hope so! We never got a chance to demo the r23 or z3 given the time of year and we haven't ridden behind any later model Tiges. I usually would never buy a boat without riding behind it first, however I know the z3 has too good of a reputation for being a great surf boat for us to be disappointed.

Great looking boat. Enjoy once the water thaws.

If it is anything like our 15 Z3 it likes weight. I have 600# (100# in the each rear cooler, 200# under each side of stock fat sacs) of lead wake.

Does your '15 have the taps3 or the hull extension? I have 400 lbs lead from my old boat planning on placing in the floor of the lockers. I think I'll use beer and ice ballast in two rear coolers Should I anticipate buying a couple hundred more lbs of lead?

                Awesome new boat!

Check out Jason’s wave setup on here or the Facebook page, he by far had the best wave on a Z3 with taps 3.

Awesome, just ordered mine Friday. They said 5 weeks but you are making me nervous with your 3 months?

Sublimer23 (love the name btw): read this thread under the "Ballast" topic: "2017 Z3 Surf Wave/Prop". Elevated's reply is awesome, really the whole thread is great. It says Z3 but R23 is the same boat basically. And congrats on the new R23... just got one myself! Now just need weather to warm up a little....

Haha. No shouldn't be 3 months. We placed the order mid Nov and it came in Jan 5th. The hardest part was picking the colors. Probably changed my mind 50 times. So happy with how it turned out thou. Purposely ordered black seats so if people didn't put down towels it would burn their a$$es. Lol. The dealer told me the more weight the better with this hull, the wave just keeps getting better! We usually have a larger crew 8-12 people I might just try it out with 400lbs lead and see where it's at there. It does have the low geared prop 15x12 and the 400 motor, I don't think overloading it will be an issue like it was with my avalanche and it's 1:1 transmission.
