?? The motor heats the lake water does it not? I know if the motor isn’t running then it’s just residual heat until it cools to lake temp but I’ve never used a shower on a boat that didn’t get hot if you’re running the engine.

Agreed! I’ve never had one but friends of ours Z3 can get too hot if you aren’t watching it. Congrats on the new boat, be sure to post some build pictures, the rzr is a great boat, way better than a Malibu... But don’t tell the bu crew that

I might have to ask about the shower. The literature specifically says lake temp shower which doesn't appeal to me but if were talking hot shower that sounds nice!

Hmm, I did not get the Z cline seat. Think its about $800 more. The argo seat is so much better than my current boat I was really happy with it. I sat in the Zcline and it is pretty amazing. I'll ask if they will give me a break on it.

The only option I didn't get that I wish I would have would have been the heated seats, we do a lot of early morning/late evenings.
I think I'm going to do it. Extra hassle of cover vs hassle of cleaning tower and speakers more often. Plus it 100% water tight. I like that.

I have the shower on my RZX2 and was told lake temp as well and I can assure you it’s a lot warmer than lake temp for sure. They don’t get scalding hot like the older ones did but we use ours all the time and it works great .

Hopefully Koolaid can clarify, but as I understand it Indmar didn't really sanction a shower as I believe they didn't want to steal raw water from the Raptor. So maybe the shower is just picking up from lake now. Would be interested to see if you follow the lines from your head back if they meet at a mixer valve or straight from shower pump. If no mixer you are definitely lake water only.
I installed a shower for one customer on the Raptor with express instructions not to use while running the engine, so it can be done...just not that long of a warm shower.

The raw water is pulled from the drain plug region of the exhaust. Really only about a 20 to 40 degree differential from lake temp. Not like the old days where it pulled from the block as it was circulating at up to 160 degree lol!
                  Oh Yeah!

I can tell you that the water from the shower on my 16 Z3 can be waaaay too hot. It only last about 30 seconds or so before it runs out though....which is fine as who wants people back there showering for 5 minutes. At that point, the shower just stops. More than enough to fill up a wetsuit and put a smile on your face. I never run mine with the engine on.

One thing to note with the shower is that if you do not have a valve of some sort on it, it will run while the boat is running. That water pressure from the engine at higher RPMs will just push it through the pump without the pump being on. So make sure that the valve on the head gets turned off as well as turning the pump off.

Also...I sat in a Z-cline seat at the boat show and was not really impressed. I mean it wasn't bad or anything, I just didn't leave plotting how to get one. Not sure it's really worth it. I'd take a heater and shower over the Z-cline any day of the week. I would like heated seats as well...that would be pretty sweet.

I may be wrong but somehow I thought the Z cline seat was the only one available with heated seats. I’ve spent a lot of time in the stock seat and it’s not bad, but to say the least I’m excited for the Z cline this summer. You Yes

I don't know about showers. But there is no doubt I would spring for the cover that goes over the tower. This give complete coverage of the interior from top to bottom. My current cover does a great job. But things can still come in at the tower base. It may take some extra time. But it would be worth it to keep absolutely everything out of the boat along with not having to clean the tower & speakers as much.

My only concern would be towing with a cover like that wouldn't seem possible. Although the towing with cover on/off is a whole other debate.

Had the argo seat in our R20 and now the Z Cline in our Z3. Do not regret paying extra for the Z Cline. Heater has become a must have, didn’t think it would get used much when I ordered it, but it gets used a lot! Shower is worthless with the Raptor series in my opinion. On the older Indmar, MP and PCM engines it was awesome to have a nice hot shower when we were camped out at Powell, but with the partially closed cooling of the Raptor I don’t see the benefit of a small increase over lake temps. I don’t wear a wetsuit until the water temp is below 50 anyway..

I don't have much anecdotal proof yet but Jason said he's been towing with his, and our sales guy has put a fair amount of miles on an SA with an over the tower cover. We just towed our rzx3 and SL to and from boat show with them on. Both have black gel on the deck and no chaffing on either, though it was 35-40 MPH in town tow.
I honestly don't think it's extra time once you get used to it from a service standpoint. Haven't done one in a slip but imagine it would actually be easier as there are no Velcro or buckles at tower bases.
I find not putting the tower all the way down until you get cover set over bow and windshield helps, otherwise you have to duck way down into the walkthru as you are trying to move around. Then you keep working cover back and put tower all the way down as you get towards the back. There are a couple other little procedural things like bimini position that can't be forgotten though...

I like my Z Cline seat and heater! I’m not saying if the OP wants a shower that he shouldn’t get it, I’m saying after 5 days of continuously being behind the wheel for 8+ hours a day in Powell I would not go back to the Argo seat.
