We're five miles away from the infamous Three Mile Island Power Plant that had the near-meltdown in the late 70's. Not the prettiest backdrop, but it's convenient (we're on the water and riding ten minutes after we leave our garage) and the steam makes a great tell-tale for wind direction!

Steam straight up = 46 degree November Butter the day this picture was taken.

And that's Tea in the jug...
Are you kidding? I love that back drop!

For three weeks a year it is. I wouldn't be able to walk if that was my regular spot. There just isn't any wind there. I remember waking up last summer praying for wind because I coundn't get up out of bed I had to roll out!!!

it's a small lake called Lake Hugo. During the week we are the only boats on the water. They have nice cabins on a bluff over looking the lake. I have been there two years in a row, and my friends 3 and it's been glass everytime! it's awesome!

                  Is that the Susquehana River?

                  Ambivalent? Yes. Or Not.

Some painful looking crashes on this thread. The nuclear reactors in the background in the one, well lets just say, looks amazing.

Yes, it's the Susquehanna River (at Goldsboro, PA) - do you know the area?

Our particular basin has it's pros & cons, as they all do. It's typically 6' to 10' deep, but some real shallows mixed in - so not many runabouts - mainly pontoons, fishing boats and lake lice. Only two or three other ski/wakeboard boats there, and they aren't regulars - so we pretty much have the place to ourselves from 7:00 a.m. to 11 a.m.

No night life or bars (just cabins on the islands) and not a real big party scene (except for us ;-). It's close (in the water in 10 minutes from my house), fairly-well wind protected... works for us.

S6-fity - yeah, I heard that - now add another decade of wear and tear on your body and try it

That's the way it is at our vacation spot - you go into the week looking forward to 3 sessions of 2 sets per day - half a week in, you're limping around and eating Alleve like it's candy...

Add to it trying to learn the Backroll last year. Attached are a few more pics of when it sucked to be me... Happily, I eventually figured out how to Over-rotate on some, and then finally, ride them away...

I love your spelling of 'helmut'! - shouldn't it be helmutt, Dog?

Yeah, I got it primarily for ear protection - it has ear flaps. I ruptured my eardrum a few season back and tried riding w/earplugs after that, but they didn't stay in very well - especially if I stacked really hard - and difficult to find earplugs floating in the water.

Every once in awhile I'll ride without the lid on - feels good, kinda like riding naked... (I guess )
