Help with noise from gas tank - VIDEO

Looking for suggestion on what would be causing this noise.

2014 RZR - With the access to the gas tank down, it sound like static. Seems to have started mid summer after about 30 hours on the boat.

When I first heard it I thought it was coming out of the speakers. After opening the access to the gas tank, its coming from one of the gas lines to the tank, I think it is the return. You can hear it while idling. Its louder sometimes than others.

Any thoughts to what would be causing the sound.

In the video, I turn the ignition on, once the fuel pump primes it stops, I do this 3 times just to hear it, 3rd time is the loudest. Its seems like its the fuel line with the zip tie on the ballast hose.

    Thanks

Always hard to armchair diagbose, but sounds like either the fuel pump or, there is slight chance that if you have a heater with an inline pump it could be that. Believe heater pump is tied to fuel pump relay so noise could be heater pump while FP is running.
Do you have a heater with an inline pump?? Do you have a fuel pressure gauge that you could put on the rail and see what pump is doing at key on??
You could always pull the Fuel Pump Relay on top of the engine and key on to IGN and see if it goes away which should get some kind of answer. IF you don't have an inline heater pump, otherwise you arent isolating anything, without taking circ pump out of the circuit....if that makes sense.

Thanks, it does have inline heater, but Im 100% its not that. Its the fuel coming back into the tank, pulsing or vibrating or something like that.

Spend a few hours last night reading up, and found multiple GM forums that have described the same issue. Seems like it is likely the Fuel Pressure Regulator, or the High Pressure fuel pump.

I need to go back out and look at the engine for the FPR. I ll post a pics of the fuel Pump assembly, trying to figure out what the black cylinder is connected to the pumps, cannot find anything online that looks like it.

Sounds like the check valve on my old 2004 Tige 24v. I forget if its between the pump and the tank or if its on the return line. Either way its designed to prevent siphoning out your tank in the even of a leak I believe.

EDIT: I think the correct term might be anti-syphon valve.... Hopefully, one of the Tigeowners vets will chime in that knows more than me if its the culprit.

FPR, Ignition relay, starter relay etc should all be next to each other. Will have a square box cover with a diagram labeling relay locations. Will also be some fuses in there.. Usually its either on the bracket that holds the ECM above the trans on older Indmars. New raptors its on top of the motor underneath the beauty cover plastic piece.

            Found it. http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/show...ve-Fuel-pickup

Sure sounds like my anti-syphon valve. locate it on the tank, you can feel the ball bearing moving when engine is at idle. If thats it, its normal , you just never heard it when the compartment is buttoned up.

I can hear it with the compartment closed and out on the water, but that sounds exactly like the issue, I going out to check, will report back. Thank you

un plug the fuel pump electrical connector and see if the noise is gone, if it is a fuel pump most likely

Used a big screw driver to touch the valve and listen to like a stethoscope, 100% that it, Much appreciated!

Gonna throw this in the mix:

Can anyone tell me what this is called - Black Cylinder, Low Pressure pumps into it, High Pressure pump pumps out of it, and extra fuel flows back to the tank from it. Nothing on the unit, no part #'s or lables

ON PCM motors its called a Fuel Control Cell
                        https://www.nautiqueparts.com/produc...part-ra080031/

It has the high pressure pump inside and is used to pressurize the rail.

I think it also is a fuel water separator and has a filter inside.

This thing is totally sealed besides the fuel hose inlets. I have a fuel water separator before the low pressure pump and the High Pressure pump is next to the black cylinder.

Im thinking its a fuel accumulator but cannot find anything that look like it. Just more of a want to know than anything.

Not sure then, maybe a fuel cooler?

it does look more like a fuel cooler, but no waterlines.
