    Boat Pricing

    http://www.seedealercost.com/boats

    Considering purchasing a 2018 Tige.

Tige boat MSRP pricing on seadealercost.com is almost an identical match to the boat price less trailer on the Tige website for all the models
Depending on the model, the mark ups are between 30-40%

Wondering if the numbers on this website are accurate?

I appreciate that the pricing does not factor in things like dealer cost to ship units, dealer volume and other things I might not be aware of affecting price.

Just wondering how much room I may have to negotiate a deal?

On must models 25-30% under MSRP is pretty close to dealer cost. A good deal depending on the part of the country is 15-20% off MSRP. If you get to 25% the dealer is likely giving you the boat at his cost.

I have to believe that seedealercost website is just like the car "invoice" sites. You're seeing what the manufacturer wants you to see.

Unless things have changed drastically in the last few years I've never seen a tow boat that the dealer cost was 40% less than the MSRP. Many things factor and every dealers cost is a bit different, but they just don't creep to that 40% range.

Likely because it would be a different number then dealer cost + 40%. Im not saying anyones markup is or isnt 40% are any other percentage. Just saying that dealer cost is manufacturer cost + gross profit, not MSRP - a percentage.

I get exactly what you are saying. But most people don't do income statements or understand them so its easier to state it as MSRP-XX% is approximentally dealer cost. Especially when people are asking at what % off MSRP am I getting a fair deal. There wasn't a boat that exceeded much over (very slimly a couple time @31-32%) MSRP-30% to get to cost for the 2 dealers (3 tow boat manufacturers) that I have worked for.

Plus 99.9% of people on here don't know dealer cost or manufacturer cost so that makes it impossible to build it from the cost side up.

Like I said, having been a cost accountant most of my career, I totally agree with you. That is the proper way to do it. But for the average Joe who doesn't have intimate company knowledge or pricing MSRP-XX% is what they've got to figure out if the pricing they are getting is comparable to others or what they feel comfortable paying.

All great info but back to my original question...how accurate (excluding specific dealer costs) are the numbers on the website?
Appears the site is off by 10-15%

As is should be. Do so as a consumer, I am now deciding what I think is a fair profit for a dealer to make on a sale. To be blunt, who are we as consumers, to make this determination. Manufacturer and dealer cost are irrelevant. Consumer market should drive the retail price, not what we think points over someone's cost should be.

Im trying to help navigate the confusion..

Below is off the website.... Tige says the Msrp is actually slightly higher. Where is that 10-15% that you say is hiding somewhere?
