If ignition coils and plugs haven't been replaced do that. I will bet that's the problem. When the turbo spools up on boost they will blow the spark out if not performing optimally. It always presents itself as a random stumble because its a miss on one hole. Nice part is its only 6 holes. My wife's 2.0T has done it twice and my father in law had same problem on his ecoboost. Even if I'm wrong it's a pretty easy maintenance item and doesnt cost anywhere the 3-4k that was quoted. Takes no time on the ecoboost. WAY easier than the 5.4L that's for sure.

I will throw that out there. The truck is in a fleet maintenance program so they have to approve all things. My personal truck 2008 F250 6.4L diesel has no problems [emoji16]

I think when I did the math on helping my FIL out it came out to around 70 bucks a hole to do coil and plug and that was buying MSD coils and not the cheapest plug option. Can't remember what I bought but they are a platinum tipped plug(OEM spec plug).Eventually the problem will present itself fully and you will get a misfire code that will be 301-306 that will direct you to the exact offender, but the ECM has to see a bunch of misfire before it will light the CEL at dash.
Unless I'm wrong. Been wrong before and will be wrong again. In this case I'd bet a round of drinks that coil and plugs fix it.

^^ I would go with that too! Would be disappointing to hear if its more. I have heard really good things about the ecoboost - the plan is to upgrade the Expedition in a few years to one with a ecoboost!!
