^^^same up north. So if the tuned ‘stroke gets 19 and the gasser gets 15 the actual costs are about dead even.

But you’re right 100% the pulling is a no contest. The gasser will do it but it’s painful to listen to LOL

Up in Canada diesel is usually cheaper than gas but both gas and diesel are significantly higher in cost compared to the states. We’re hovering at about 1.25$/litre and that’s equal to $3.8/gallon. Crazy! Don’t even ask how much premium costs...

My wife is Honda Odyssey for life. It leads the most brutal life any vehicle ever has. Between her and the 4 kids and parking lots it’s more akin to a Bradley Fighting Vehicle than a car.

I have this cool 2008 Sequoia that does everything we need and it’s worth squat. I have it doctored up and looks sweet.

The diesel desire is really just for novelty, I tow my boat 2X a year for a grand total of 100 miles to and from storage. The Sequoia does a darn good job actually, considering the boat is a HOG.

Love the excursions guys! They are damn cool!

I have a thought and a question on this.

I have a 2011 Chev 2500 DMax. This was the first year of DEF and a lot of the emission things. I was really disappointed in the mileage that I am getting compared to guys I know with earlier DMax rigs.

Question: What exactly is the "delete"? How hard is this to perform? We only have 60K on our truck, but due to age the warranty is off. I found this out the hard way, the turbo went out at 57K, 3 months past the time warranty and GM socked us the $4K for the repair. The dealer tried to go to bat for us and get it covered or partially compensated under "good will"...no go. So with the warranty clearly off, I figured that we can now do some things to improve the mileage, but don't want it full on "blowing smoke"

Thought: I have wondered for quite some time, what is tougher on our environment. Everyone is worried about what comes out of the exhaust pipe, but if we are using more fuel to accomplish the same task, isn't that bad for the environment as well? On one hand we are told to use less fuel, buy electric or cars that get better mileage. On the other, we are putting all this emission crap on but increasing the amount of fuel used. In some ways, I feel that we may actually be doing more harm than good. What do you guys think.

There are a few way to accomplish this. On your 11 the easiest way is to get EFI live and find someone who is willing to part with a tune for the LML- your motor. The problem with tuning 2011-on Duramax's is the change in ECM. They went to a locked Bosh module which no longer gives anyone the ability to "read-out" the current ECM cal file. Why thats important is because that is how tuning had been done for as long as I can remember. Since the owner purchased the truck and thus owns that specific cal file, reading it out and then making adjustments via EFI live then reflashing was a piece of cake. What happens now is for the AVG joe, they dont have a base starting file to work with. Tuners got in big trouble a while back ripping base files from GM TCS website which is a database for all of GM specific software and files.

Some of the big hitters have legal files now, I know we got a few by taking the ECM out and bench reading a file out, 10 hours later wala.

Sorry for the long response. SO, get EFI LIVE from a reputable GM diesel Tuner (Idaho Rob) is good. Ask him to do an emissions delete tune for you and then all you do once you have EFI is reflash that tune back in. Done and DONE. Straight pipe it and disconnect the Urea sensors and remove the tank and you are done.

3” lift. 35” Toyo Open Country on 20” fuel coupler wheels. My favorite is the amp research power side steps. Iron bull bumper which was a huge PITA to mount.

It sits level when the boat isn’t hitched up.

Actually pulls that hog remarkably well....

They’re cool. Our weather up here is terrible and they’re going strong after 2 winters.

Whoever said they like the new Expeditions I tend to agree—that with an Ecoboost could be a pretty sweet little unit, but damn they’re expensive.

We have been looking at the expeditions. But my work truck is a 2013 f150 with the ecoboost 112000 miles on starting to be in the shop quite a bit. Really wish I could talk my wife into a 7.3L excursion. What the tow capacity of the sequoia

The 5.7 liter sequoia is rated at 10,000 pounds. I have pulled my 24ve behind it and my brothers rz4 with no issue. Gas mileage gets killed like around 10mpg when towing. I don’t tow a ton but am excited to tow with the excursion and see how it does.
