"Why yes," I will be taking part in the 25th anniversary of the Smith Mountain Lake Water Ski Club annual Polar Bear Day with my boys and twin brother on New Years Day. Will be riding wakeboards, skiing and barefooting as long as we can stand it, will be suited up no different that a summers day ride on New Years day (some of us anyway) there will be some that use wetsuits and drysuits. Current forecast for New Years day is 29 degrees. If that holds up we'll have to stay in the water to stay warm. Anyone near the Roanoke VA area on New Years day, come on out and join us.
I don't want to go to work, take me wake surfing instead!

The event took place, temp was 21 degrees with a wind chill varying from 9 to 12 degrees unfortunately I was not able to take a ride due to being ill, but a few did. Here is a link to the Smith Mountain Lake new paper article covering the event.

                  Happy New Year everyone.
