Another picture from farther out. The island when lake is near full is circled in red. The shoreline when at full pool is in blue (approximately) and the nice little canyon that forms with a little more water is in green. Sometime I'll have to take you there, it's really nice.

PS. I have a CT scan scheduled for Monday AM. I hope it's passed by then.

Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity. Albert Einstein

Hoopykat -- I have heard Bass lake is beautiful, but gets choppy very quick. Hard to find good water. What's been your experience?

Is that the area that is close to the Grand Canyon? I've heard that going up into the canyon from Mead is pretty cool. Have you ever done that?

I have gone about 7-8 miles past Sandy Point at Mead. My favorite drive to Hover Dam from Lake Mojave.

We like Castaic Lake in CA.
The lake lice have to stay in a small part of the lake next to the dam.
The rest of the like belongs to the boats.

That's interesting, do they limit the number of boats on the water?

Do other So. Cal. lakes have the same boundaries?

When Lake Mead was up I took the Seadoos to the sign that said Welcome to Grand Canyon National Park. Since I left from Echo Bay it was quite the long ride. Carried extra gas to ensure we had enough to get back to Temple bar. Back then there were quite a few shallow spots. Not sure if you could make it today
                                Let it be!!!
