    What was the adequate weight?

Do you think surf plates are the deciding and only factor in regard to a boat switching cleanly? Interesting. My opinion is that they arent. Want your perfect example? RZX2. So to answer your question.... I would first have to ask you... Which RZX? Because the Rzx2/Z3 switch like a boss with the Rzx2 being probably the most stable and even switching boat I have been in. You think thats solely because of Taps3? Its not.

As for the Rzx3..... I can get that boat to switch side to side no problem is the wave maxxed? No. Clean? Yes...... and I can provide evidence if you would like. But I dont think thats what you are after.

Sooo many factors, running surface, prop size, how the boat is weighted from the factory in terms of batteries etc..... I learn something new every day im in these boats, I keep a notebook because I think its one big fat happy changing equation. Anyone who says there is one way to do something and one guy who knows all is full of ****. Again all my opinion.
This is way off topic here, but see that you said prop size can effect wake and surfing level. To what degree? I thought if you get to speed you are good. I get to speed but dont get the push or cleanlinesd that i really hope for on my boat and i know my 537 is at its absolute limit. Just need one more reason to upgrade!

537 in a rz4.... yeah... either you need like 2000 pounds more weight or you aren’t holding any sorta speed.

Im honestly not sure. We have a 7 mile trek to get somewhere with calm water, so I waited at the beginning of last year, especially since I had a ~1 year old who needed a mid day nap. Most days we had 28 miles at high speed, so if it wasnt needed I didn't want to lose on the top end economy.

With that said, I was already leaning towards upgrading, as I still spend a lot more hours at surf speed than at 30mph.

As for my boat, we run the sub floor full with 1100 lb jumbos, full surf, maybe 200 lbs light on the non surf side with a delta. Found leaving the front empty is best, with 2-3 kids who are always in the bow (90-140 lbs). Even with 6-7 adults in the boat as well I get to 11.2 mph and stay within a tenth or two of that number. I am assuming that 2300 lbs is enough for my boat, but maybe that is the issue as well.

My wave is huge and looks great, but it doesn't push as well as I think it should based on looking at it. My cousin has been surfing for years (generally behind an 08 enzo 233 listed) and while after looking at it he cant wait to get back there, is always a bit disappointed with the push and hardness. What I have noticed, and why I think it may be partially the prop is it seems to be harder and have more push when it is just my wife and I in the boat, even though it is smaller.

My plan was to wait until a week before I launch the boat this spring and order a 1235 online so if it doesnt help and kills my top end I can return it. When i saw that a prop can help with surfing level, I thought maybe it would change the push as well, so I figured I would ask.

            @ trever,

The 1235 is going to be an upgrade to the 537, with only a couple MPH loss of top speed. This is due to the change in both diameter and pitch. With that said, unless you hearing and feeling significant cavitation, I would be hesitant to suggest a prop change for the sake of the wave.

Prop really wont have that much to do with it if you are in a reasonably RPM range and holding speed.

Trevor, did you ever buy a prop? I run an RZ4 as well and surf with similar weighting. I have the ACME1615 prop and it works absolutely fantastic for me. Top speed only dropped a tad to about 41mph.

I ended up finding a 1235 cheap on ebay damaged with no cuts... bought and sent to acme for refurbishing... very happy with it, and paid under 200 including everything. Lowered surf rpm, can get it on plane when loaded so I dont have to wait til empty to head home... and i didnt lose much on the top end... maybe 2 mph. The thing that makes a huge difference is that the wave cleans up instantly, instead of being mush for 20 seconds or so.
