    Taps 3 retrofit

Hey TO! I’m trying to find out if anyone is doing taps 3 retrofits anymore and if so would it be possible to do to a 2012 RZ2. Boat is Denver based but can travel if necessary to get it done.
Trying to get some winter mods lined up!
    Thanks!

If you don't mind towing your RZ2 to Utah, we could definitely do an install for you at Germaine Marine.

        @Adam,

A 2012 has Medallion Tige Touch 1, correct? How do you get it to show and control TAPS-3?

I just have the basic Lenco switches but if I were to do it again there’s a company making a controller that has memory settings and then fine tuning from there.

          I’ll try and find it

Here we go. Lectro tab makes a controller meant for surfing that has presets and fine tuning. Model: ALC-WAKE

You are correct, on boats older without TT2 we install a Lenco switch on the dash to control the TAPS3 rams.

Adam has it. We can do it in Phx as well.

                    Thanks for the info guys!
I had a feeling it wouldn’t integrate into the Tige touch on the 2012. I’ll touch base with Germaine and see what the options are.

Bsreid-did you install a system on your R20?

I had my mechanic do it. He said once he found the right position(based off Germaine’s recommendations and factory positions) it was no harder than trim tabs used on normal boats.

It’s definitely within the scope of my skills to do myself, it’s just a matter of wrangling up the right parts for the job.
If I were to do it myself I’d want it to look and function as close to factory as possible. (Minus Tige touch integration)

If you haven't read through this, it should give you all the info you need as far as parts, etc.

If I was to do this again, I would use wake logic to control the system. This will automate it and make it closer to actual taps 3.

Ill just float this out there.....

Just slapping a plate in the water isnt the ideal way to go. I might work decent, but I truly believe you need to grab a plate that has some science behind it. Whether you buy a factory plate, or a 3rd party. Their is legit science behind the good ones.. trust me.

As for a controller, the wake logic is for speed based deployment and retraction only. It is not a multi position capable system which is what is needed for true performing system boat.

Feel free and call me and I can give you the run down on the systems that I would think about that arent even related or tied to Germaine. 714-306-3999
