    Alpha Z Wetsound "Collars"

Has anybody tried contacting the company that manufactures the collars directly? I know I've heard people say they have called Tige and Wetsounds with no luck. I removed my Rev 8's the other day and the collars still had a sticker with the part number and "Able Manufacturing and Assembly."

It's my understanding the collars have to be purchased through Tige. I mounted my Rev10's without them and to me it doesn't look bad enough that it really sticks out to me.

Not only through Tige, but ONLY come with a pair of speakers. Id be willing to bet that the manufacturer will not sell them as the collars belong to Tige. Intellectual property and likely protected by copyright, trademark or patent.

Yeah I knew you could apparently only get them through tige with speakers but wasn’t sure if contacting the company that makes them would be worth it.

I was actually surprised to see how cheaply made the collars were and the painting was god awful. Had about 2-3 spots per collar where the paint had run.

If you don’t mind shoot me some pics. I’d really like to see the backside of the can (from front of the boat).

My 2013 I paid for the Tige REV8s and got the collars.

2014 I got Rev8s at cost and said forget the collars.

Honestly if you didn't know there should be something there you'd never know. Unless you were a prior Tige Alpha Z equipped boat owner you'd never even know that something went there.

And yes the only way to get the collars is to buy a set of speakers thru Tige. You cannot buy just the collars. Even with warranty we had to send the broken collar first before they would send a single replacement. One for one swap with them needing to receive your broken one first.

To my knowledge no one has tried buying from the vendor. If you know who it is I'd say try it. All they can say is no.

I agree they are a very poorly made piece of plastic that Tige is very protective and proud of!!

It doesn't really make sense to me either... They could easily make money off of them. Clearly there is a market for them.

Yes, they do make money. Buy a pair of collars and you get speakers for free. Offering the collars by themselves and customers would buy the speakers through their local wet sounds dealer and buy the collars through their tige dealer. Tige would actually make less money. To make any real profit on the collars, they would be priced out of what someone would likely pay for them. They only fit the tige boats with alpha-z and wet sounds pods. very small market IMO.
