Meh, I see a LOT of boats. Not just Tige, or Skiers Choice. Don't like the look of the SE, but love the wave it throws. I like the build quality of MB but hate the look of the new B52's. They all do some things better than the other. Like you said, we all have our opinions. Doesn't matter, I'm just a poor tech that gets lucky enough to get the occasional pull in behind some nice boats.

Z3 is hands down a great looking boat and a great performer.

Yep...Z3 is one of best looking boats on the water. Classic lines.

At the beginning of November I test drove an SE back to back with a Max. The SE was used, the Max was brand new, first time in the water. Price tags were $47k apart. I had to keep reminding myself of that. Storage in the Max is unbelievable. We surfed it and Mehh. Then we filled the extra bags I brought. Or tried to anyways. My throw over pump wouldn't reach the power plug at the helm to fill the port side. And that's just how that boat was. Lacking in so many areas in little ways that it was super disappointing. Then when I asked for little things like, "hey if I build one of these boats can they add a power point on the port side?" The answer was always, "no, that would drive the price of the boat up." Geese, I'm willing to pay for it! Still a no. Their trained monkeys can't get out of their rhythm I guess.
The SE was also a very disappointing test. The supercharger was a blast. My wife yanked me out of the water so hard I really thought my arms would pull out. The wave was seriously no better then my MB.

I have seen both of these boats flat out perform and knew there was more to them than what I saw. Just not sure why I didn't get to experience it. The water that day was WAY too cold to be let down with the wave.

That’s too bad. Stop by SD and I will give you an SE demo.

Dealers seem to bungle demos more often than doing them right. Everyone needs an elevated working at their shop.

Used SE $47k more than a max? Holy cow.

            ^^^what he said

Rode a 15 SE with 1100's in each corner. It was Parker Paynes old boat so it was already dialed. Longest pocket ever and so much push. Very fun. Have only sat in a Max so can't testify to wake yet..
I understand the reticence to truly add "custom" features one off to you boat if you were to custom order. I've been thru Skiers factory and I is a pretty well oiled machine, and in a surprisingly small space. They give you extra breakers, it would be easy enough to add one. Even easier to do one in rear lockers.

Yeah, the SE was a '17, fully loaded. They were asking $117k. The Max we tested was, "around $75k". We would have been a few more into building one with options we wanted. Funny you mention Elevated. He did give us the best test drive we have had yet.

I don't see the big deal of asking for one off options. It's not like I would have asked them to be free. I was/am willing to pay for them. On top of that, it was options sitting on the shelf ready to be used for another model boat. Just throw it in mine instead. That can't screw the works up too bad. And if my Max ends up costing $100k and is set up the way I want, who loses? MB seems to be willing to do this. I have seen some fantastic one off boats coming out of there, and we're talking hard items to change/modify. Not one 6" speaker for another 6" speaker.

Did the SE have like 9 hours on it or something? I guess you did say 575...

Even so, seems like a pretty aggressive price.

Goes to show you that even with a system like autowake (if it was being used), you still need to know how the boat functions and is setup and or how to navigate the system to use it correctly.

The Max and SE surf killer, just gotta know how to use them. The Max for the money is filthy good.

Pulling the trigger on 2018 RZX3 thanks for the input. Going to fly to texas in January and make the final decision, wife still wants to ride in one. If she decides she likes the 2 better already have the priced worked out and we will just switch the build. If anyone is in the MA/NH area and looking for a dealer, Meredith Marina, in Meredith, NH has been great to work with. Build date is going to be March with delivery by end of April. Hopefully the snow will be gone by then.
