I have a 1999 Extreme that has essentially been an extreme problem. Misalligned axles and such. I converted from Drum to discs. Once converted, one of the leaf springs snapped as it was inadvertantly welded at Extreme causing the axle to move. Extreme replaced all four leafs (warranty) however what I/they missed was a fractured brake line which allowed brake fluid to escape. This eventually depleated the master. I filled it however the master was shot. My opinion, once the master is dry and gets submerged, the piston and such rust up and it never works as well as it should. Master cylinders are not all that expensive. Check first with a brake specialty shop, or auto parts and see if they can match it up exactly. If not then hit the boat shops or online options. I paid 49.00 including $5 shipping from Extreme.

Again, I bled the system utilizing the vacuum bleeder and never fully got it correct, immediately fixed once I put the new master in. I also replaced the shock/strut as I felt once it had spent some time 'clunking' around it had probably maxed out its usefullness.

    Hope that helps...
