Thanks for the correction, thought it was stock and Pro........lol

    ,
Thank you for all the advice and info.

I definitely have a better understanding and expectation of the VX. If I decide to mess with it.

Honestly, you will get a better wave with your current ballast and the nauti-curl as compared to your current ballast and adding VX. This would apply to the other lakes that you can run ballast and surf hardware.

Running the VX with NO ballast on your home lake, I dont see the wave getting better. May look cleaner, but I think the added buoyancy of the VX, will reduce the height and push.

Upgrade your ballast and either go taps 3 or surf flap. I’m running 2800 and with a small crew it could still use more.

Why would Tige put a VX on a boat like the RZR with PRO factory ballast, knowing it would require much more weigh than they provided?

This would be like a car maker touting they have a great new feature, but it would not work correctly unless the consumer bought aftermarket parts to make it work.
Great question. I'm with you on this. I think if there was a flop, it was this. Tige *had* this habit of releasing new things before they had it figured out. They did this with the first Z3 hull, the Vx, vinyl, ballast in general, and the entire ASR. However I think we agreed that its been a few years now with better results. TAPS3 was a winner, as is the RZX line.

When I bought my boat I hadn't really surfed before, so I didn't have much of a frame of reference for what *good* was. I'm just glad Tige keeps making great accidental surf boats. (someone on here... can't remember who, called the V the best accidental surf hull Tige ever made. I always liked that line)
