Trailer Question

I have a slow leak in one of the rear tires on my trailer. It is a dorsey trailer that came with my 05 22V. I need to remove the tire and take it in for inspection/repair.

I have two questions:
1) What is the jack point?
2) What do I torque the lugs back to?

Any help is much appreciated!

An excellent question. Did you get a manual or instsruction sheet for the trailer? How about instructions how to grease or replace buddies? If not call them and have them send you something so that you can have a record for the future. I will take a look and see if I have any info with my trailer.

I will have to check in my paperwork. I bought the boat used, so I'm not sure I got everything that may have come with the boat. I don't remember seeing anything on the trailer, but I will certainly look this evening!

If anyone knows already knows...it will be nice just for confirmation or a second opinion.

Just put the jack under axle where the springs attach to the axle. This is the support point for the axle and will more than support the use of a jack.

Thanks RayT. Any idea what to torque the lugs back to? I know most cars are around 100 lb/ft. I'm assuming that a trailer will be less.

call dorsey...they have a wbsite and have been helpful when I have called them in the past

My owners manual didn't give a torque spec, but with that size stud, 100# would never come loose and will not be too tight and damage the threads.

Talked to Dorsey. They told me that if the stud is 1/2in, I need to torque to 100-120 lb/ft. If it is 9/16, torque to 120-140 lb/ft.
