Where to Put the Gopro Mounts on Alpaha Z Tower

Hey guys,

Where is the best spot for a gopro mount on Z1 with Alpha Z tower? Outside of the tower on the side? Bottom of the tower in the middle? On the side looking back?

I normally mount mine upside-down near the speaker on the surf side. I also like to mount by the cup holder and storage compartment on the back deck - makes the wave look huge but susceptible to spray.

Mounting on outside of the tower doesn't seem to give a good view for me. Mounting near the center of the tower also doesn't seem to give as good of a view as mounting near the speaker.

I find a really nice angle is clipped on to the board in the board rack. This gets you out a bit, but also back a bit.

Another place that's okay is right by the cup holder on the transom.

I'm planning to build an "arm" that extends out from the tower this winter.

I have suction cup mount and stick it on the gunnel next to sundeck on surf side...perfect place to video surfing, you catch everything. Tower seems pretty far for go pro since you cannot zoom in

I wish I could pull air like that...the first picture is of Evan Frierbrand who took 2nd place in the Worlds Wake Surf Comp here recently in Canada. He came out on boat with me last week and makes tricks/air look so easy. Awesome to see great riding in person like that behind my boat, was a first for me. Hopefully Evan is coming out again with me this coming week since weather is still pretty decent here tho that is supposed to change within the next 7 days. The 2nd pic...with the laughable 6" of air is me, lol...as well as the 3rd pic. Conditions were perfect that day.
Even tho I have always had a I/O boat and done watersports, this is actually my first summer ever surfing, Luckily I have gotten in at least 200+hrs this year so have been able to progress a lot. I started with a Doomswell Neo which has been a great board and really forgiving for a noob like me....just bought my first Soulcraft (Jordie Pro in 4' 8") at beginning of this week. Love that board, what a difference...so light and agile compared to anything else I have been on.

Ha, ha - I'm with ya! Yeah that is some good stuff by Evan. Yours is not bad for the first year! I know I couldn't get a stinking fin out of the water my first year...

It is always a pleasure having someone like that ride on your boat - and certainly helps improve your skills! We ride and hang out with quite a few pros and really good amateurs that make all the tour stops - just having them tell you what they "try" to do while performing a trick is what really has helped me. But yes, I agree - its awesome having a pro ride on your boat.

@ Shamus - sorry to hijack your thread. I, like TigeFamily place my gopro on the back somewhere on the transom.
