    RV Cover

While it rarely rains in SoCal, I was still pursuing additional safeguards for the Tige' which will remain outside this off season. I was considering purchasing a RV Cover to drape over the tower and Sunbrella boat cover. Seeking any guidance or experience with such a pursuit?

Check out shelter logic tents. They would allow you to keep the boat out of the sun, while still allowing the boat to breath.

If you got the room for a shelter then definitely. I use a 20' x 30' tarp over my boat to keep the boat dry, cover the tower, and keep out prying eyes.

Bad pic I know but a pic none the less....hey, cool lights!

        RV Cover

I bought a thin, high quality, 30x20 tarp and put it over mine. I then wrapped a rope just below the rub rail around the entire boat. It survived a Canadian winter like that just fine. It flaps enough to allow for airflow and was steep enough for snow to slide off.

Being from the local area to you in Palmdale we are in a unique area where it's always a guess as to whether or not to fully winterize or not plus with random weather from high winds, snow, rain, sub freezing temps. I did the math last year.
If you look for desert lakes storage in Bullhead AZ. (About 3.5 hours away) its $100 month indoor storage.
A new cover that will provide protection is roughly $800
Winteizing is another $100 (give or take)
You could store your boat indoors, in AZ. where winterizing isn't t required from Nov-April for $600.

That is what we did last year and for an extra few buck if you have an on-board charger they will leave your boat plugged in for you through the winter.

Save a couple hundred, boat is stored in-doors, no freeze worries, no rain weather issues.

          Just an idea!
My life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"

If you go the tarp route....just make sure it can breathe or has some circulation so no mildew grows with trapped moisture.

Havasu has been considered, I have maintenance items I need to accomplish as time allows which require the boat near. We have recently adopted a couple day spring trips to local SoCal lakes as the kids have gotten older and we start our summer in Powell and conclude in Havasu.

I think I will experiment with a RV Tarp as an intermediate solution. Thanks for the conversations on this topic.

And don't forget to use moisture buckets (desiccant). Minimum of 3: 1 in each locker and one up front. Even in "dry" climates temperature changes can be enough for condensation.
