For surfing I am running full ballast at 10.8mph and Taps 3 at 7 and Taps at 3. When I am short on people I add 375 pound fat sacks under each side seat. Any tips?
If you aren’t running extra rear weight, drop the bow weight. Drop it to 15%. Run rears full with taps 3 at 4 taps 2 at 4. Would love to hear how that works.

A fully loaded r23e should still be a marginal savings. Depends on your budget.

Thanks everyone. One more question on the R23 - is the quality of the vinyl for the seats comparable or is it lower quality. Unfortunately, there aren't any around here to check out

The vinyl is all the same supplier. The stitching/intricacy is just not as flashy. It’s more simplified in terms of stitching etc.

Sorry to revive this again but as I get closer to making my decision more questions pop up. Has anyone have any experience with the M2 Tower Board racks that come on the R23? They look pretty clean and simple in photos but are they nice to operate? Reasonable quality and feel?

One more question to all R owners out there. How do you find the sound system? Has anyome compared it to the Z or RZX systems. Is it a significant downgrade? Thanks!

If you’re worried about sound add your own tower speakers. Probably pretty similar in price.

On the 2018 R-Series you can do Rev8's or Rev10's from the factory.

At least for the 2017, the R series boats use the Wet Sounds XS-65i series in-boats as compared to the Revo-6 in the Z. If so, noticeable difference in terms of sound quality if you compared side by side.

Same tower speakers used, so no difference there. An Icon-8, Rev-8 or 10 on an R is the same Icon-8, rev-8 or 10 on a Z or RZX.

All the rest is the same I believe.

You are right on the XS-65i, I forgot about that.

So big difference between the Revo6 and XS 65i. That's too bad. I will have to find a place to listen to them. Not a lot of R's around here.

Just thought of another question. Do you guys know how tall the M2 tower is? I am 6'3" and fit under the E2 tower nicely but bang my head on the Alpha Z.

The M2 is 76.5" from floor to bottom of tower underneath tow point (measured on 2018 R22). For comparison, the E2 tower is 79" (measured on 2018 Z3).

Great thanks for the measurements. I wonder if the R22 would be a little different in height than the z's
