    RZR Ballast

On a ‘14 RZR with the surf package, are there hard tanks along with the soft bags in the bow, or just bags? Where are the drain pumps located? In the rear, the fill pump tee’s into both the hard tank and bag, then both drain out through the hard tank. Do I understand that correctly? Thanks for your help.

The front has 2 soft bags. Drain pumps are attached directly to the bags on the aft(rear) end of the bag. Pull the black panel out at the front of the observers compartment and you will see it all.

You are correct on the rear. The drain pump is attached to the hard tank so as it empties the bag above it drains in and is pumped out.

Surf ballast option may be only a single sac in the bow, not two. Pro level typically two 400 lbs sacs, at least on the larger boats. Either way, the pumps and plumbing was about the same.

Thanks for your help. I have removed the bow panels and it does have two drain pumps. Are there check valves in the system?

Also, is there a bag upgrade available that will fit in the stock locker locations?

There could be check valves in the fill plumbing, but likely closer to the fill pump

Sac upgrade for front or rear? Yes for rear. For the front, would be custom for sure.

What is the bag upgrade for the lockers?

On the R20 and RZR, we like to use the Fly High W005 for the rear locker.

I am thinking about getting W005 too. will it work well without upgraiding bow ballasts?

You definitely won’t need it but you’ll probably want it. I don’t think you could upgrade the bow ballast that much, there really isn’t room. I usaally run with a 400 in the walk through.

Thanks. Should I put something on top of the bow seats or having it in the walkthrough is good enough? We are having difficulties with wakeboarding as well. The boat starts porpoising around 20Mph and I was hoping that adding bow weight would help.

The Fly High W706 Triangle will lay on the bow, but i doubt you would need to fill it to capacity.

For wakeboarding I’d add more weight to the front before the rears and put your taps down. Do you have the Center cooler? If you don’t a standard 400 bag fits perfectly.

I do have an integrated cooler at the front.
