2001 23V rebuild from the ground up

that thing is sweet SONIC. Did you put a curve in it from front to back or is it just flat, mine has a slight curve to it, how much does it weigh compared to the old one

Mine are just straight. There may be a slight curve stock but the upholstery foam on the side pieces fills any imperfection.
it's a little lighter than the old one, which is waterlogged lol. I'm going to put a steel plate on the bottom of it (powder coated black) which will add a little more weight.
More weight more better for a surf boat!

Got it mounted.

Went ahead and replaced the last wood in the boat today as well the side lockers were still factory and we're not holding screws well so I made new ones from hdpe and swapped over the upholstery.

What is the thickness on the HDPE? I have considered doing something similar on my 23v, and I would like to know for reference, especially when it is time to replace the upholstery.

3/4" on the sides. I was a little worried it would flex but it doesn't.
I'd go 1" on the center section if using hdpe.
