    Only serviced one new Axis, but I hated the rear bench seat while I was in it. Having a picnic table bench with powder coated aluminum and a vinyl piece on top is not a seat. IIRC, it was a new(er) A22.

    Are you planning on building your own bags as well?? If so would love to see your process. One thing to consider if you are, is how the fittings and hoses will flex as bags fill and drain.
    Some have gotten it right, and others not so much. From what I've seen no fitting from any bag builder does well if the fittings get rubbed against hatches above or on glass/solid structure around them as bags expand and contract. So consider hose and fittings so they move as little as possible, yet still have room to move, if that makes any sense. Why i like reversibles over aerators, amongst other reasons.

      I hadn't considered making my own bags, I'm not quite sure how it's done. I may have to look into it.
      Kind of seems like a good way to sink a boat though, I can just see them filling all the way up and then bursting hahaha

      I'll be using reversible aerators are just too many possible failure points for me. I'm okay with slightly slower fill times.

        That's a good call on the fittings.
        Possibly on the lower rear of the bags so that they never have to flex with the upward movement of the bags.
        I've read opposing viewpoints on filling from the bottom, bit I imagine it works fine.

          With a reversible impeller pump, we design our systems to fill and drain at the bottom. No issues at all. Still suggest a vent on the top though. An un-vented sac can burst or worse, pop the deck cap loose from the hull at the rub rail. Seen it twice.

          By time you factor the head loss of a typicall 1100 or 1200 gph aerator, you end up at the same flow rate of the jabsco puppy or johnosn ultra.

          Once the entire system is designed, not a huge cost difference between an aerator and impeller pump system. Impeller setups are simpler and no need to worry about pump orientation in regards to air lock. Both have pros and cons though.

          Put some dimensions and ports on those sacs and ill get a quote for you.

            Mike,
            Good to know about the comparable fill rates, what's the fastest reversible out there right now?

            Sending over ballast files now. Dimensions may change if I decide to move the batteries and pump, but this will be a good starting point, if they change they will just get about a foot longer.

              Maybe shove a couple of these guys in the lockers. extra ballast and they would fill quick!

                Mike as usual nails it. I also like the fitting at bottom of the bag at the rear. Just seen some builds(including a Tige or two) where there isn't enough give. Water sloshes as boat slows down and pulls bag forward but hose is secured so it can't move with the bag. Eventually kills the fitting at the bag. Worst case I've seen quick connects get pulled off fitting and bag dumps into bilge. Super fun stuff watch your progress and thought. Hopefully lack of indoor storage doesn't shut you down.

                  The Jabsco Ballast King is the fastest right now, thats for ballast applications. Like 960 GPH. The others are in the 700 gph range.

                    Freewheel, I have inside storage just not heated inside storage! Makes for a bit of a pain in the rear to do fiberglass work.
                    I'm thinking of buying one of those tent garage things and tossing a heater in it and see what happens.

                        You can burn through impellers on reversibles if you aren't paying attention while draining. One of the "cons" for sure. There is a built in failsafe to both jabsco and Johnson pumps that are supposed to shut them off automatically after 15 or 20 minutes of run time. In my experience the only guys that burn up impellers are people that buy new boats with zero understanding of how their boat really works that burn up impellers(on new boats running reversibles). Folks going to this length typically have a good understanding of how their ballast works, and don't burn up impellers.
                        "Pros" would be less 1" or even 1 1/8" hose to run. Less wire to run. Less pumps. Less fuses as one fuse runs two circuits (fill and drain circuits each require circuit protection in aerator setups)Pumps that will suck the bag dry vs pumps that either require perfect orientation or end user forcing water from bag to empty..hate rolling up bags to empty them or lifting them to get water to enter drain pump. Other "pro" in my mind is a well mounted reversible will outlast an Attwood , Johnson, or Pyrahna aerator from What I've seen. As long as reversibles are mounted impeller down or at least parallel to horizon the pump itself lasts a long time. If you mount them in a location thats accesible impeller service isn't a big deal. 15 minutes and a flathead at most.
                        If you run reversibles you can hear when they are empty. The pump noise is quite different between when they are moving water vs sucking air.
                        Oh ya, jabsco gives you a polarity reversing switch as well with the pump...so really saving money again over aerator as they dont include fill/drain switches. Yes, they are more per pump, but way better setup. There are some other "cons" to reversibles but to me my mind is made up. Reversibles.

                          There is a chance to burn up an impeller. However, with the latest green and orange synthetic impellers the pumps are using, this is rare. They are more forgiving to running dry. The pumps also have a run dry circuit in them that will trip the pump off if it draws too much.

                            If you have it all apart, I would suggest moving the batteries, I honestly hate their stock location. It's so nice when I help a buddy with a boat and they are in the observer location.
