    leaking boat.

so a while back I posted a question about my 22v taking water on as it sits in the boat slip over night. one response was to fill the bilge with water and see where it leaks out. So I did and let it sit for an hour........NOTHING just my luck lol. Could it be the drive shaft seal and it will only leak with the pressure from when the boat is floating in the water?????

Driveshaft seal is a pretty common spot. I had the same issue last year. I ended up running the boat with the back seat removed so I could see everything and had a friend look while I drove. Sure enough once at speed water was just spraying in to the boat. Got it home and pushed the collar back and tightened it down again...this also is easier with two people. Been dry ever since. Definitely something to check.

It was my exhaust on my 22v. I replaced with stainless pipes. Even quieter than before with FAE. Larry Mann from fae built them. He should have the specs if that's your issue.

When you run the boat, open the transmission hatch cover and you'll be able to see if water is leaking in by the shaft seal. It will leak way more running than just sitting in the water.

^ this. You may not get much of a leak if any with the boat out of water with water just sitting in the bilge but with it in the lake and the shaft turning under load it'll flow in pretty good. Like you said the added pressure from the boat might be enough to make it leak in the water.

Thanks for the responses guys!!! I did think about it being the muffles so I had them re-fiberglassed did not fix thew problem so i will now look at the drive shaft seal but it will have to wait as she is all put away until next spring.
