    Another STFT High Limit code....

So I read the other two threads about this code and it sounds like a stop at the dealer is warranted..only problem is we are from Ohio and just dropped the boat into Norris for a week.....am I SOL on this and just had a vacation ruined or is there a way to manage this issue until I can bring it to my dealer?

Turn the batteries off for 10-15 minutes

    Turn them back on
Cycle the key 10 times to reset the system
    That should clear the code
If it stays off your good, if it pops back up again repeat steps
My life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"

Cool....ill try this in the morning!

My dealer is going to get back with me and is working hard to get an answer but I just need to eek 3 more days out of her....will running her with this code do any damage to the engine or will just the gph suffer due to running rich for a few days?

Potentially could burn up some cats but I would bet a case of beer on not. You could go to a local auto parts store and start swapping o2 sensors but not worth chasing the exact wideband 02s you need. But they are a FoMoCo part, not Indmar specific.
Hcoopern I believe had same issue and ran a while with it , so he may have some insight. All our owners that have had this issue trailered when this popped up for them so have zero anecdotal proof.
Have thus far seen zero engine failures from this issue, but a malfunctioning o2 could theoretically think it's rich and I turn shorten injector pulse time and lean out a while bank. Not good. Just theory though. Never seen it happen. ALSO don't work at the factory so couldn't even begin to speculate what they've seen warranty wise in relation to this issue.
When it boils down to it you either play it super safe and trailer the boat and get it handled properly via your dealer for service and warranty via indmar. Or run it and take it to dealer after and have it covered by warranty regardless. Don't honestly see why it woiuldnt be covered by your warranty either way, unless for some reason you aren't covered under indmar 5 year plan.

FYI for everyone with CAT systems, don't know if this has been addressed yet but here's the info: use ONLY the specific oil weight and brand, synthetic or synthetic blend for Catalytic exhaust motors. Use of regular petroleum oil has a higher phosphorous content and will cause the O2 sensors to malfunction resulting in the necessary replacement of ALL 4 O2 sensors. We've replaced dozens on Mercruiser and PCM engines due to people changing their own oil and not using the recommended product.
Fixing everyone elses boat just so I can use mine...

Is the same code that I am throwing? SPN 3256 FMI 5?? it states that there's an engine fault, I just acknowledge it and it beeps every 30 secs. If you have the music loud enough you can't hear the beeping! Or I reset the batteries for 10 secs and it goes away for a bit.

Here is a pic of mine....i just assumed "SPN" meant what the prop was doing lol

No worries on the oil...ive only ever had Tige do the service so that shouldn't be an issue....
