    Tige 21i 06

Hi there. I hate to just join and ask but hopefully someone might be able to help with possible purchase of a 06 21i.
Fairly clean in used condition, 600ish hours, 5.7 340hp, TAPS2, 2 or 3 fat sacs,1 owner with preventative maintenance history from hour 1 (this is a must for me)
Anyways price seems about right i have been looking into malibus, centurions and a few supras but tough to find a inboard in our price range with a decent history. Family of 5 switching from a 19' i/o so we can maybe get into surfing. Majority of our lake time will be young kids tubing and skiing and just swimming hanging out on the lake. Adults slalom and wakeboard some when time (kids use up all the hours of the day fast haha) The odd time we have another young family of 4 or 5 so sometimes 10 onboard. Would like the ability as kids grow and time permits to try surfing. Is there any options on 06 model years that i should be asking if it has or does not have? Reviews seem real good for this boat as a cross over style. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Also looking at 03 malibu wakesetter dd and a 06 centurion dd but this tige seems to be a better dd boat overal from what ive read on reviews although it has a few hundred more hours. No wood in these correct? Thanks

    First welcome to the forum.

From the sounds of it you found a nice boat. I was in your place 2 years ago when I found my 22i. I too was looking at the Malibu XTI's as we wanted something that could get more people on without sacrificing the slalom wake. Getting 10 people on a 21' dd will be cramped, as 10 people on the 22i means that we are stepping over some people. With that said my wife has repeatedly told me that we are not selling or trading in the boat unless it is on a new RZX.

I have heard the resident ballast and audio expert chpthril, state that no ballast options in these years in that you would probably rip and replace. Perfect Pass or Tige Speedset will be much needed options to maintain speed.

You are correct there is no wood in the boat.

Its a really awesome to be an owner of any boat to be honest. 2-3 Years ago to get wave behind a DD that was rideable was borderline unsafe, now we are in the age of "suck-gate" or "slap-on surf systems". I have seen waves behind DD boats with certain systems that would rival stock waves from new boats. I can attest to 10 people in a DD, I had a Centurion Elite DD waaaay back when and 6 people was about max to be comfortable.

      Good luck with the purchase
My life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"
