    Freeheel,
My issue could be operator error. I have no idea. It jus seems to take different settings with same weight than it used to.

Lots of confusing stuff here so lets try and clear it up.

Yes, maybe lenco has had issues with actuators in other brands for a while, however this is completely unrelated. First, Lenco has various models of actuators. From short throws to long throws to Xd's to standards too many to toss around and trust me when I say they are not all created equally. Most of the actuators depending on housing and throw length have different seals and end caps which makes comparing this failure to whatever we are talking about with other years or brands irrelevant. THIS specific issue is a recal from Lenco regarding a whole time frame of actuators installed in tige boats most notably model year 17s. They have a 1st//2nd and 3rd Gen actuator from lenco in relation to the taps 3 system. Gen 1 didnt have an issue, Gen 2 however did due to a seal change. Gen 3 is the actuator that is currently being produced that is the fix.

Tige has sent out a memorandum to have dealerships swap out Gen 2's with the new actuator even on boats that havent yet had a seal go bad.

The correctly assembled actuators have been awesome and the new Gen 3's have survived plate deployements of upwards of 22 degrees without any issue.

Below is a gen 1 (left) and gen 2 (right) actuator. Notice the bottom cap to the housing.

Here is the branding on a Gen 3 actuator. Note if you have an 18 and have an actuator with a 3rd branding digit of I or higher you are good to go. If you have an actuator with an I above the 3rd branding code you are also good.

I hope this resolves some of the confussion. Lots and lots of boats with hours and hours without any lenco issue. This is a corrected and specific problem unrelated to issues with other brands or years that use different lenco products etc. Trust me. Just trying to make sure the correct story is there.

What does the bottom of the updated gen3 look like?

Looks like the Gen2. The trim wasnt the issue, it was the inner seal which has been fixed. I have been running my plates up and down over and over trying to bust them. No dice yet.

I had this issue on my 17 Z1. Taps plate worked in the morning session but then failed in the afternoon. Dealer checked them and mine were on the recall list. I recently had the actuators replaced and now I'm back in business. I had no warning, they just failed.
