    Alternator protection

I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions to protect my alternator from the saltwater that drips in around the sun pad as people get in and out of the boat. I know, don't use the boat in the saltwater...that is out of the question though. My dealer did fabricate and install a neat little drip diverter flap to keep water off of most of the engine, but it then forces water to drain onto the alternator. Thanks in advance!

You can buy thin aluminum sheets at Lowes/HomeDepot that are easy to cut, bend, drill and rivet. Make a little 'tent' over top of the alt.
