    Help! 2009 24ve engine warning

Hey everyone, I just picked up my new boat! We love it so far and can't wait to dial in the wake. So here it is...

So we took it out tonight and after about 45min of driving around this came up on the screen. IMG_0453.jpg

It just says service so we weren't too worried about it but I don't know what it means (oil,etc.). Hopefully someone here can help as we are trying to leave tomorrow with it on a trip. BTW we have the pcm 343. Thanks in advance.

So after turning batteries off overnight I turned the key on this morning not the engine and the warning wasn't there. Although I am sure this came on for a reason and I am not sure what is wrong as we didn't notice anything strange while driving it. It seemed to run great except for a slight vibration near the gas tank when idling but this might be normal. Please let me know what you guys think

Nice boat! I have almost exactly the same: 2009 24Ve, EX343 engine, even the same three colors (though in a different arrangement).

I do all of our own regular maintenance on the boat. The engine has 450+ hours on it. Hopefully I'm not jinxing myself, but I've never seen that message on the screen. "Low Fuel" occasionally (when below 50% and surfing, so the sensor ends up opposite the fuel) but never anything about maintenance.

My wife's Toyota minivan brings up reminders about oil every 5K and 10K miles. You can clear them with a secret handshake (instructions are in the manual) if you do your own maintenance. But I am not aware of any such reminders on PCM/Murphy/Tige systems, I've never seen one, and I've never had to clear one.

That makes me think this isn't a "reminder" but an actual warning, like the message explicitly states. I would have suggested low oil, restricted oil filter, low fuel rail pressure, low battery/alternator voltage, or some other maintenance item but it sounds like you've already checked several of those. Time to call Tige and ask them what makes that message appear. Please post what you learn for everyone's benefit.

Congrats on a really nice looking boat! We love ours. 2009 was a "sweet spot" for Tiges so you should be in great shape for years to come.

Thanks for the reply ID. I might be a low fuel think because with the key just on right now we go this message. I agree with you on that it might be something actually important that I should figure out just in case. IMG_0457.jpg we should have some fuel so this suprised me when it said 0% sitting on the trailer. Oops

Again this is without the engine running. I am going to check the oil level right now just to be sure

Oil level is full so should be good there. Let me know if any other thoughts. We are going to contact Tige as well

Tige is your next call. Remember, the screen is from Murphy. That message is almost certainly a reaction to "something" Murphy is receiving from the PCM ECU. Maybe an indication that a code has been thrown, and is readable? Could be anything. Might have even been transitory, like a stuck injector or dirty sensor that has since cleared some contamination.

Let us know what Tige says.

Thanks for your help! I will contact them tomorrow as they are not open today. Although we are going camping today and plan on taking it out tomorrow so hopefully nothing too serious. From what you said it shouldn't be a big problem, right?

I have no way to know, having never seen that message nor any prior reference to what it might mean. I'd say don't go on too big of a lake so you're never too far from shore, and just keep a close eye on it.

Sounds like you may not be able to trust your fuel sender, so keep that tank topped off too.

Ok we will keep an eye on it. I actually wouldn't doubt if we were low on fuel as we went out with only 19% full and ended up being out longer than anticipated. Thanks again

We just towed it back from Texas about 1700 miles. Is there something I should check that could have came loose on the trip back (sensors, engine components, etc.)?

I have an '09 22ve, same motor. If memory serves me correctly, I got a message like that while surfing, and the oil pressure reading was low. It went away while not running with surf "list". Oil was just at or a touch below the bottom of the range so I added a bit and all fine since (few years).

I wasn't surfing but I thought oil might be the case as well. The oil pressure was at the top of the range but not above and the oil level was full so I am thinking it must be something else. Anything that you would check for looseness on the engine or sensors? I am new to the boat so not very familiar with all the components. Thanks for your feedback.
