    2011 RZ2 Tige Touchscreen Out

Our touchscreen went out today. Later in the day, I started the boat. The screen was real fuzzy, but visible, but then went completely out. Turned on and off multiple times, but couldn't get it back. Got flickering, if lucky. When it was out, it looked like it was just a black screen, while we were on the water. Once we got back, and looked at it in the shad, my wife said it was actually really small vertical lines of all different colors. Any suggestions? Pretty bummed this has happened to the boat, considering it has less than 400 hrs.

Sucks, that is something I worry about too with all the technology. In the newer boats, you lose your screen and you have lost the boat since all functions operate there.
Too rule it out, guess you have already tried a hard reset by disconnecting batteries for 5-10mins (maybe double check all connections too).

Yeah. I love the feature, and it's a big reason I bought the boat, but a lot is lost if the screen goes out. We just turned the batteries off, for a couple of minutes, and it didn't do anything. I'll try disconnecting the batteries, and see if I get a different result. I saw one owner replaced a communication cable between the screen and control box (he called it an RCA; not sure if that is a proper description). I would go ahead and replace that cable, if it isn't too expensive, and I knew what to buy. It went out at the end of the day, so didn't mess around with it too much. Will try to investigate myself. The shop is probably at least a month wait, at this point in the Summer, so no rush to get it to them.

Believe your model year has a medallion box under helm, but may not have been until 2012, other previous years have a box with a series of switches that can allow you to still do a handful of functions without screen. If you have a medallion box (big black rectangle with a cover on it), you can manually activate functions by mpving fuse to blank space next to each labeled function.Regardless remove kick panel and see what you have under there. Not ideal at all but can keep you on the water doing more than just starting engine and going forward/reverse, if you are holding out on taking it to a dealer/shop.

Hmm...do the newer ones have this as well? Specifically a 16 Z3? Just curious.

I'm pretty sure I've seen some threads on here about people flashing the screen. You have to download an update and plug it in to USB on the screen.

Do you know where I can download the software update? I found a USB port under the helm. Is this what I plug into? Couldn't get it to work for iPod music, though. Hopefully, the port still works. Do I just download the update, and stick a flash drive in the port? What's the updating process?

Get with your dealer and ask for the software update. I remember my 13' z1 came w a flash drive . I'm pretty sure that's what u use to update with.

                  Bakes-
15 was the last year of medallion box I believe. Hard to keep it all straight, as there are changes every year. Honestly never make assumptions until I'm in the boat. But there is a mirrored receptacle in medallion where it will function loads when fuse, or technically any conductor it the slot.
