Tige Vets the dealers. When you are bringing people on board to sell your brand, you cant make the process difficult to the point where people say forget it. They can only take people at their word if that makes any sense in regards to business operation.

I dont think Tige is the problem in a majority of this...but thats just my .02. As Mike so kindly pointed out in his example, the approach is just different with the dealers that are thriving especially Germaine . I don't need to spell out that in all of this, dealers have to be making some money, however that isn't the sole driving force. I can tell you that from Tige (Chase as the WC Rep) to Noah Germaine and then on down the line, we are super passionate here. Doesn't mean we are always going to be perfect and or not have a big screw up from time to time but what that does mean is that we will try and go way above the norm to make sure people are happy. It wont always work out, but whether it be sending a mechanic to the water to help you, or spending hours on the phone late at night getting your surf wave dialed for the next morning its what we are all about. We want to change the game with Tige leading the way.

Its happening... I spent time over the weekend with every major MFG over the weekend head to head and couldn't be happier with where Tige is. Room for improvement? Absolutely, but Tige is definitely at the front of the pack with lots of throttle left.

I dont know where I was going with this... I tend to ramble late at night.

Oh, Dakota... stop posting pictures of your supra wave on here, it sucks Jk. I saw pictures of your boat and its beautiful and the wave isnt half bad either.....

one thing I never quite grasped...

the tige dealer that sold me my boat was newish in '12 when I bought. sold tige, some I/O brand and had a tooner or 2. he's on a small lot and small showroom so not a lot of room but he was new and didn't have the cash for a big fancy showroom or acres to park on. one of the other dealerships sold an alum. whitewater jet brand, supra/moomba, axis/'bu and had the nautique license but didn't stock. was special order only.
my buddy knew one of the salesman at the other dealership and when they got 'bu they stopped pushing and stocking a good selection of skiers products.

fast forward to today and Tyrell now stocks tige and skiers on the same crowded lot. interesting that both companies would allow their products to be sold at the same dealership side by side. he is doing a good job stocking product across both lines.
you see ford/chevy dealerships by the same person but 99% of the time they are on different lots, different service centers and different sales force. interesting in boating that it's allowed to be together.

You know, when you ask how big are the ballast tanks and the sales associate holds their hands out and makes a rectangle shape and says "bout this much"

Not saying these are bad dealers, just not the right fit for tow sports because they dont buy into the culture.
Pretty much spot on. We had a Tige dealer and they switched to Supra and Moomba and I have yet to see ANY of their boats on the water other than a yearly demo. I see way more Tige, Malibu, Mastercrafts coming from other out of state dealers than what is sold locally. When fishing boat to wake boat sales is 200:1 it's pretty difficult for them to call themselves a dealer.

Tige' s oldest dealership in one of the hottest tow boat markets here in Austin dropped them. I think there's a problem.

Did they pick up another inboard/tow boat manufacturer or just dropped Tige and picked nothing else up?

That's interesting. Our Tige dealer just picked up Supra and MB for this season. He still currently has Tige but I hope this isn't a sign of things to come as I'm close to purchasing a brand new Tige.

                      Under-ground-king,
We have been a Skiers Choice dealer for 2 and a half years now. We aren't dropping Tige. Do believe that our commitment got upped last two year and we filled it. Not sure about this year's commitment. We fill it again this year. Depending on what model Tige you are looking for I wouldn't just rule out Moomba Or Supra bud. Talk to Chad sooner than later if you are going to order new. The new Maxx is going to blow people's mind

Everyone makes a valid point, no doubt.

Consider this though guys, and this is something I have personally seen. Walk into any dealership...they carry more than 1 brand. Any dealer has to weight their options, Quota's from Corporate, Target Buyer, Options to Buyer (both in house and local competition), AVERAGE Income for the dealer location. Tige boats are not the cheapest NEW boat to own. However a brand new Heyday, Moomba, Axis, Etc. are all relatively sub $90K BRAND NEW. The 25-35 y/o fresh out of college, or starting a career needs to find a brand they can afford as that is primarily the target audience. We all know the 45+ y/o that has big money that walks in and wants the newest G25 with everything and drops $230K on a new boat, that guy is out there but he doesn't walk in the door once a week or twice a month a buy a boat (USUALLY). But here is where the dealers get smart:

Lets Say a Dealer has Tige, Supra, and Moomba.

I am a brand new boat owner, and jumped on a random "Tige Owners" forum and asked "What boat should I buy" and all of us are screaming every model possible with no idea we are talking to a brand new potential owner. So I walk into this Tige dealer and I want a RZX3 "LOADED" cause I am dumb and have no idea what this boat cost or what my credit looks like. Dealer walks says "dude, got the bank to work with you but I could only get you $85K. I cant get you into a RZX but I have R-Model Tiges, and some Smaller Supra and Moombas we can roll you into".

I guess my point is, it all depends on where the Dealer holds Tige. Are they the "TOP SHELF" boat at the dealer or classified as their budget boat? If Tige is being offered as a Dealers budget boat, then sure I can see why they would drop them....there not a budget boat anymore.

Just my opinion could be right I could be left field with a coloring book.

So when people say "MB" in this thread they are talking about Malibu or Moomba?

MAybe they dropped them to for the simple reason to make more money. If by MB you mean Moomba, I have talked to a few dealers that say they cant keep them on the lot at all. Economically priced inboard that is just flying off the shelves at the moment. And centurion is making a comeback, some would say the 25' Centurion is the best surf boat out at the moment, but the price reflects it just like the G boats.

Tige is a hard sell at the moment IMHO. So much competition, at about the same price point. They will probably sell as many centurions as Tige but they also picked up the Moomba line and they will probably sell as many as those as they can get in stock.

Point being that maybe nothing is actually going on with Tige maybe the dealer just saw an opportunity to make more money.
