    Dealers Pulling away from TIGE

Guy posted today about his new boat. Had me wondering off of his post looking for answers. I also bought from someone that was a Tige dealer, two years after I bought my boat the dropped Tige. Now the closest Tige dealer is a day trip away. Is this common or why are so many dealers dropping Tige?

My dealer that I bought mine off of dropped them aswell. He said they where very difficult to deal with.

Chicken or the Egg? Could Tige have said "Were going in another direction" as well - perhaps unhappy with.... whatever?

Or they couldn't sell boats. It happens. If you are selling boats you probably aren't dropping the line.

CarFanatic.....your dealer was the one that I originally ordered from that pulled out as a dealer. My experience with talking to Tige directly has been very good. I'm thinking maybe he wasn't selling many boats. Just my thought. I would be curious to know why he left the dealer network if you hear anything.

None of that is true. Matt Still is a dealer, and he sold quite a few boats for his first year last year. I did not buy my boat from matt, he was not a dealer when I got mine. My original dealer was in TN. He dropped them because he had issues dealing with them when it came to warranty work. At least that's what he told me. As for matt we are ordereing 2018 models here soon. Jackstraw your new boat looks killer.

It can be hard to find dealers that are a good fit for tow boats. Its a growing market, which makes it attractive to a dealer. However, that dealer needs to get 100% on board with the waterpsort life style. Hard for a 60 yr old fisherman who has not clue what a wake board is, to relate to a 13 yr old shredder. You know, when you ask how big are the ballast tanks and the sales associate holds their hands out and makes a rectangle shape and says "bout this much"

Not saying these are bad dealers, just not the right fit for tow sports because they dont buy into the culture.

I just submitted some warranty work thru Matt so it will be interesting to see how Tige handles it......Glad to hear he isn't pulling out as a dealer though that had me worried! I really enjoy working with him and the crew there!

I have also heard that Tige can be difficult on warranty reimbursement, that they can take a long time to pay. That stated, I am not sure if the dealers are necessarily doing their part by submitting the proper paperwork/photos...along with their warranty claim. If they fail to do their side of the deal properly and give Tige the proper documentation for the parts/work performed then Tige should not have to provide reimbursement.

And what Chpthril stated above. At one time (not sure if this still holds true), Tracker boat dealers could take on the Centurion line. I don't believe that many of the Tracker dealers did, simply because it is not a good fit. If you pretty much sell fishing boats and tooners you will not know enough about towboats to make it work out. Not good for the dealership if they cannot move the high dollar inventory and not good for the manufacturer to have 2-3 year old models sitting on lots. I believe towboats would require at least on dedicated sales person and most likely additional service staff dedicated to these boats.

3 sides to every story. you will always hear the boat dealers side as you are their ear to the problem. you will never hear Tige's side as you have no fiscal ties to the company nor work for them. somewhere between the 2 lies the truth to the story or reason why something is happening.

I’m honestly very surprised my new local dealer is still alive, they just aren’t selling boats and from what I’ve heard they aren’t good for service.
I was at cultas lake a few weeks ago, which is the one and only lake for that dealer and there sure weren’t any new Tige’s, they were all older ones from the previous dealer. Lots of new centurions and Malibu’s though.
There are quite a few big dealers who are very successful and the little guys just don’t seem to be able to make it.
