Throttle / shifter REALLY difficult to move when boat hasn't been used for 24h+

Once the boat has been operated for 5-10m it sorta comes back to normal.
However, it seems to be getting worse over time. I am having to use both hands to pull it into reverse or forward in a cold start. Soon I will rip/break the throttle arm because I am forcing it too much.

Please help !!!

The throttle control is based on a dual variable resistor (potentiometer) right at the throttle arm. Very unlikely that could cause so much friction without breaking, it's a small part.

Does that boat have a transmission cable that runs from the throttle arm back to the transmission? That's where I'd look first. Easiest first test would be to disconnect the cable at the transmission and see if it gets looser (indicating the problem is the linkage at the transmission or the tranny itself). Next would be to disconnect the cable at the throttle arm (indicating it's the linkage there or the cable itself).

Annual maintenance usually includes lubing the cable linkage at the transmission. Have you been doing that? Might be all that is necessary.

I had a similar issue on my 13 RZ2. It turned out to be a wiring harness block plug that was falling into the linkage at the transmission. Every time you moved the throttle lever, the plug was getting crushed. It would all depend on the plug position whether or not it was extremely stiff or just slightly stiff. A zip tie to hold everything up to the other harnesses was all that was needed. Hope yours is that simple.

Update: Played around and tested some theories.
Nothing seems to be getting jammed (i.e. wiring harness or anything).
Disconnected the connectors at both the throttle arm and the tranny itself.
When I disconnect the throttle arm connector : arm is easy to move around.
When I disconnect the tranny arm connector: throttle arm is easy to move around, but the black tranny arm is a bit stiff when cold.
I feel it may be that tranny arm itself, or MAYBE the cable?

Anyway I can validate either way?
Can I lubricate the cable easily?

There have been some previous threads about this and I believe the problem was actually with the valve that the shift arm at trans. Believe OP said he contacted P CM and they acted like it was a known issue, especially with your description of only when cold. I would contact PCM as well. Have your engine serial, trans serial and ratio handy when you contact them.
