If one was considering pulling off their taps 3 plates and installing GSA plates only, without moving the actuators from their mounts on the transom, what would the outcome be? Jason, I'm sure this is the first thing you tried.
I imagine the GSA tab would not retract as high as a normal GSA set up, and it would also travel down much further than a normal GSA set up. Down travel is easy to dial in and up travel would require a mounting location closer to the hinge, most likely or maybe all the way out to the end of the plate. Running close to the hinge could cause an overcurrent code do due loss of mechanical leverage.
And what is the gain of all this work? For me, I'm looking for the best wave without running lead. If I could get a better wave running stock and PNP than that may be something to think about. Apples to apples, just switching tabs will give me a longer wave? Taller wave? Something different all together?
