Is the Tige a LH or RH prop? One thing I hated on my Sanger was the LH didnt help me surf on the left side very well....

Be careful if you buy a Tige. All the MC owners in the local will become enemies.

IMO the port side surf wake is the best. FYI, some of us have put in Rival Ballast systems that work really well. Check out some of these posts.

I'd also recommend looking into a Fresh Air Exhaust.

I have the factory ballast and would agree to go aftermarket with it. I do not like losing half my storage to tanks that aren't even being used when I take a bunch of people out to cruise and we are not boarding. I might remove the rear tanks and do bags myself. Other than that, I love everything else about the boat. Also on the SAN, I know someone that has one and he says they are a real pain to turn one way but not the other, can't remember if it is right or left though. He said it takes some real muscle to catch a double up right.

Everyone else has been right on with their comments. I've got an '04 22V and the new 22Ve hull is almost identical- I've heard there were some minor adjustments to the hull.

Everyone that I take out on my boat is surprised that the wake is that good. One example- this summer I took my boat to Lake Powell with 5 others and a group of teenagers. One guy had a real nice new Malibu VLX. At first everyone wanted to ride in the new VLX, but as I took more people out, the word spread that the Tige was better. At the end of the third day the VLX owner was so curious about my boat and wake he had to ask for a pull. As we headed out I asked if he wanted me to fill the ballast. Then they all found out that we had only been using the 6-8 bodies and the 325# of lead I keep in the boat. To make a long story shorter, he tried it both ways and loved it. With the all the ballast (about 1600# over stock)it was too much for his skill level. Since he had just paid about $65k for his fully loaded boat I didn't rub it in. All the other adults were also talking about the nicer Tige ride when we made the trip to the marina in the rough water.

Different boats have different wakes. From my experience the Malibu and MC are more rampy. The TAPS does change the shape some. I know the Sanger you had put out a great wake with some ballast, but in comparison the Sanger is a very shallow boat. Some Tige dealers don't push the ballast, so take a couple of bags with you on the demo if you need to. Also as has been mentioned, the dealer can make a big difference in the overall experience.

            Good luck!

Can anyone comment on where the ballast tanks are in the new Ve series? Aren't they in the back behind the rear storage area just like in the RZ2? That way they don't take up so much usable space.

I was told last year that it was only about 800 lbs., but at that location it's probably much like the effect of a wedge on a Bu so it would be as if you had way more weight distributed throughout the boat.

Heres a little imput that I have aquired from talking to Eric Ruck, Tino Santori, Rusty Malinoski, Jd Webb, Greg Nacrasen. They all said Every brand of boat has a different wake. They all said you have to run different line lenghts depending on the boat. Tige Boats they said 70 to 75 feet, SAN 80 to 85 feet. All the team Tige riders said the good thing about Tige boats was with ballast and taps they could adjust their wakes to be like the other brand of boats; when trainning to go to any touranment. That being said I think for any serious wakeboarder the Tige makes the most sense. So thats my two bits of info.

The deciding factor in my 22V purchase was that i didn't need ballast. I'm a huge fan of the taps and convex hull, and absloultely hate ballast(except when surfing). I like not having to change my wake, i love the idea of being able to change it on the fly. Plus i don't have to mess with it taking up storage( another good part of an MC, ballast in floor). But i veiw tige as a mix between just hanging out and a boarding boat, My veiw of MC is pure wakeboarder. Tige is the better all around boat.
