    Indy Towers?

I know there are a lot of Samson and Roswell tower fans out there, but does anyone have any experience with Indy towers? I like the way they look, the Bimini, and honestly the price. I am going to be replacing the original Metcraft "K" tower, and don't want to install something that is just going to be a problem...

I've been happy with mine so far this year. It's much more stable than the old Metcraft for sure. Since I trailer, the bimini is bit more of an inconvenience to deal with, but not enough to have me regretting getting it.

That looks great, thank you! Did you install yourself or have it installed? Did it mount up with the exiting mount locations or did you have to repair the existing holes?

I installed one on the Mastercraft 205 I had before my Tige. It was well made, looked good and was pretty solid. Install was easy since you only have to drill one hole per mount. I do think some of the Roswell or Samson towers are nicer, but when you take price into consideration the Indy is hard to beat. Compared to anything else out there for lower priced towers it's the nicest one I've seen.

I did it myself, but a helper is required; and it went right back into the original mounting holes. The original Metcraft rear mounts had two #10 screws as well as the main mounting bolts, I just used some stainless flathead washers I had laying around and ran them back down. Looks better than the open hole, but I'll likely fill them one day.

INDY makes a great tower. Also check out Big Air Towers, extremely similar in design, parts, and install and have some pretty good deals when you package racks, bimini, together. Just an idea! I did my install on my old Centurion by myself but a helper would have been invaluable. Its good to hear the original holes line up, cause drilling all new holes and getting everything squared up is tough by yourself.
My life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"

Do any of y'all fold the tower down when you store your boat? On my last boat we installed a Monster tower and that was real simple to fold down but the mounting brackets aren't the cleanest looking. I also didn't have the monster Bimini so I don't know how easy or cumbersome that Bimini is.

Currently we have the wakeboard pylon that you can extend up on the 21v and the massive Bimini that covers the whole back half of the boat (which is awesome with the 4 kids 7, 5, 3, and 1). But at some point I'm wanting to add a tower and a set of speakers. We still store the boat in the garage and will have to fold it down each week when we take it in or out so I would prefer something fairly easy to put up and down but also easy on the wallet like the monster, Areial or ,Indy

Great conversation... I have an Atlantic Custom tower on my '99 2100V that has served us well, but I am sick of putting it on and off to fit in the garage. I want a nice clean tower that folds down to fit in the garage. I also have a bimini and agree it is a must. So... my mounts are 72 inches apart... not sure where even to start...

On a side note... I just hit 1000 hours on my boat... not to shabby for a PA boater... DSC06419.jpg

The Indy tower is one that I would definitely not plan on folding down after every use. It can be folded, but it requires removing 2 bolts and loosening 4 others in order to fold down. I typically try to avoid running bolts in and out of aluminum often as the threads will eventually strip out. The Indy Bimini leaves the frame in place, and the fabric is removable; so if you want to fold the tower, you'll have to remove the bimini as well.

I don't know that I've seen a good 'budget' tower that was really made to be stowed after every use.

@Peadad1 - thanks for that reply. I believe i watched a video on how it folds and that's what it looked like to me. I agree with you that having bolts in and out of aluminum is not the best that's one reason i like the Monster Tower was it was only 1 bolt on each side not 3 each side. so it limits the damage, but even if 1 bolt goes bad then it makes the tower unusable.

It's a tough pill to swallow putting a 3k Roswell Aviator tower (or similar priced tower) on a 18yr old boat that you spent 12K on. Then add on a Bimini, board rack and a set of speakers and I'm half way to the price of the boat, guess that's why i got it for $12k =).
