Well I call Larry at FAE today and he suggested me to run a compression test on all the cylinders to eliminate a bad head gasket. I just finished that and thought I would post the results to see what u guys think. Stating on the observer side of the boat and with the cylinder closest to the front of the boat, 170, 170, 177 and 178, this is the side that had almost all the water on it. Now the driver side starting with the cylinder closest to the front of the boat 170, 166, 170 and 170. All these numbers were with the motor cold. I am to the point where I am almost convinced that the problem had to come from the exhaust side of things but my brain still tells me there is no way water could get into the exhaust ports while the motor is running.

And I did run it for 30 minutes in the driveway on a fake a lake Wednesday night with no issues and when I pulled the plugs today to do the compression check I checked for water in the cylinders and there was none at all.

A compression test only tells you whether you're getting a good pressure in the cylinder. BTW, yours are all good. A leak down test is how you really determine whether your gaskets are good or heads warped, etc...

Btw, pony up the $40-50 bucks that FAE charges for the flappers. Easily installed and cheap insurance my friend.

Well great news to report. After all of my checking and hard work this week I took the boat out today with absolutely not one issue. It ran perfect and restarted easily. The FAE flappers are in the mail and will be installed next week when they get in. I did make my FAE exhaust tip much more vertical like the pictures on their web site.
