I spoke to Matt at Boats of Nevada today. He thinks it is a great idea and would love to bring an RZ2!!!!!

He will check schedules and see if there is a date that works best. Veteran's day is Friday, November 10. You people with government jobs and those that observe all federal holidays may find that to be a great time to do it. I would still stick with a Saturday if possible. I think that I am leaning towards doing it at Overton. Seems like more people would make a quick drive up from Vegas than would make a 4 hour trip from SLC.

If we get a good group of people, we may even get a special surprise! Woo hoo!
    Be excellent to one another.

The 10th would work great for me, then I could continue driving on to Southern California for the USC vs Oregon game on the 11th.

The 10th or the 11th work best for me. If it was on the 11th I could go to Havasu 1st to get the boat and take it to Matt for service.

Whatever is best for everyone, Im in.
        Let it be!!!

The 10th may work for the wingnuts. As posted on another thread it snowed here last night. I can't believe it is the end of summer. A last trip down south is always a great way to end a season. You can give it evereything and then feel good about putting the boat away until spring. Overton is great with me, What is everyone thinking as far as lodging. The Best Western is the only place in Overton. We may stay the first night in St. George to cut the drive down in to peices.

Don't count me out yet. I need to see how my schedule works out. I may use this trip to continue on to California to get a new tower.

If matt brings an RZ2 he may be going home with my boat instead!!! It could be an expensive trip if that happens!!

I guess I am lucky to live where I do. Our coldest water temp on the lake I use has been 48 degrees in the middle of winter. Last year we did not use the boat until June except to test drive it one time right after it was delivered. I guess that was my biggest mistake. Some people use the wet suits and brave it. there is know way I can unless I find another driver other than my wife. She has arthritis so she does'nt go to the lake with us until the middle part of June. Then stops every year during this week. This is the best week of the year to use the lake because the fair is going on and know one is at the lake. Go figure the boat is down. I hope to get it going before the end of the month to get one good trip in for the year with everything working right.

What lake do you go to in Bakersfield. I know there is Buena Vista and not far away is Naci, And San Antonio. Do you get to use any of the private ones?

We use Buena Vista Lake WEB. We have not had use of the boat long enough to visit San Antonia. We want to go there though. My wife is a Beach Bum so she likes the idea of that lake. I wont use Nacimento. To much risk to take out a prop. I let my friends use their boats for that lake and we take our Wave Runners. They tend to go over the rocks. But yes BV is the most used. I like it because there is no rocks and it is warm. I have a friend that is a member of a private lake in Arvin and he has a 16' Master Craft direct drive that he uses on it. My boat is two big for that private lake. The one private lake that is big enough for my boat has a 8,000 per year membership fee. I like sking and boarding but not that much. The whole purpose of this boat is to just be able to keep the kids and there friends doing things with us so we know what is going on in there lives instead of them going and doing stuff we don't want them to do or hanging out with the wrong crowds. We never go to any of the lakes on the Holidays. That is an accident waiting to happen. Have you ever been to Lake Web Buena Vista Rec Area? What is your oppinion and is there anything else you have found better. Also I have gone to Lake Huntington above Fresno all the way to the end of the 168. But you will need a high altitude prop and a wet suit if you go there. The highest the water temp get there is usally 73 degrees at the hotest point of the summer. It is 7100ft above sea level, Crystal clear water and between 6pm and 8am the water is like Glass every day. Plus it is very quiet and peacefull and the wake the boat generates is awsom becasue of the depth of the lake. The depest point I found was 102 feet. Any ways off to work I go. I have to pay for this toy now.

It is official. I think that we should do this on November 11. Matt with Boats of Nevada has been eager to support this since I first called him. It will likely become a bigger event than I was anticipating. We should plan on something from about 10 am until 3 pm. Matt will bring a demo boat (or two, I hope) and aim to have some sort of barbeque. Those details will be more clear as we get close and have a good head count. My biggest fear is if the weather doesn't cooperate. Usually we have sunny and 60's to 70's that time of year.

Overton may be the spot, but if the water keeps going down like it has, the ramp may become difficult to launch from. Has anyone been there lately? Echo is just another 10 miles down the road and should be fine, if Overton can't be done.

Hey guys, we put in at ecco last weekend. it is very low there also, just have to back my truck way into the water. I hate doing that. but do-able. Overton is about the same. really shallow at the launch.

We need to do somthing like this here in California. It would be great to get a lake full of TIGE' boats.

                                anhaney,
Ive been to Buena Vista a few times. Were thinking of going there in a couple of weeks. I do like the campgrounds there. I really like San Antonio I dont mind the heat and love the shoreline camping, knock on wood I have not lost a prop at Naci. and we go a couple of times a year. Great water there. Sometimes we go to Lake Milerton outside of Fresno great water in the mornings until about 9am during the weekend.
